A Torch to Keep on Glowing
And now it spreads
like a viral thread
Je suis Charlie was the cry
when some Frenchmen died
cries of liberty and freedom rang
as fellow countrymen sang
against the terror that threatened
for their rights to end
Today something changed
the thread is now renamed
Je Suis Volnovakha they chant
Ukrainian people against
violence by a government's hand
taking lives by the thousands
they march against the injustice
they march without thought to consequence
to end the bloodshed
to remember the dead
to make it stop
to have the bombs no longer drop
there will be others who will march
quench the throats that were parched
so they can sing out strong
the viral thread will not be gone
when there are those that still believe
that all on Earth should be at Peace
