Luna tapped her fingers against her phone screen, scrolling through the countless TikTok videos of the latest trend—the "Like Jennie" challenge. Ever since BLACKPINK's Jennie dropped the song, idols and influencers had been hopping on the viral dance, adding their own flair.
Her gaze landed on a video of Ni-ki.
"Of course he already did it," she muttered, watching him effortlessly glide through the moves in a dimly lit HYBE practice room. He wore a grey tank top and sweatpants, a water bottle in hand, adding a casual yet powerful vibe.
The video was everywhere. As of today it had 15 million views.
Luna narrowed her eyes. "Alright, Mr. Viral. Time for some competition."
She pushed off her bed and grabbed her phone, heading straight for the practice room where she was sure Ni-ki would be. Sure enough, there he was, sprawled on the floor, scrolling through his phone.
"Ni-ki," she called, stepping inside.
"Luna," he replied, not looking up.
She sighed, stepping closer and nudging his leg with her foot. "I need your help."
That got his attention. He finally looked up, raising a brow. "With what?"
"I want to film the 'Like Jennie' challenge."
Ni-ki sat up immediately. "Oh? Nice! You wanna do it now?"
She nodded. "Yeah, but I wanna make it different from yours. You did the whole 'effortless, cool dancer in the practice room' vibe, so I was thinking... something more aesthetic."
Ni-ki tilted his head. "Aesthetic?"
"The rooftop garden at night," Luna said, grinning. "With the city lights behind me."
Ni-ki whistled. "Ooh, fancy. You gonna wear something cool?"
"What I'm wearing right now" Luna was wearing a grey top, jeans, boots, and hat.
He hummed in approval. "Sounds like you planned this."
"I did," she admitted. "I've been wanting to do it for days, but I needed someone to help me film. And since you're already the 'Like Jennie' king, I figured you could be my cameraman."
Ni-ki smirked. "You mean 'Like Ni-ki.'"
Luna rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Help me learn the dance first."
Luna spent the next 15 minutes breaking down the choreography. Ni-ki, of course, had already learned it so he goofed around in the back.
"Alright, you need more sass," Ni-ki said, mirroring the dance in front of her. "You gotta—"
"I have sass," Luna shot back.
"Not Jennie sass," he corrected. "You gotta own the floor."
Luna took a deep breath, rolling her shoulders. "Okay. One more time."
She executed the routine again, this time adding the perfect amount of attitude. Ni-ki grinned. "There it is. Like Luna."
She laughed. "Exactly."
After getting the choreography down, they headed to the rooftop garden. The city lights shimmered in the background, adding the perfect ambiance.
"Alright, ready?" Ni-ki asked, holding up the phone.
Luna adjusted her hat, took a deep breath, and got into position. "Ready."
Ni-ki counted her in, and as soon as the beat dropped, she transformed. Every move was precise, every expression on point. She finished the routine with a confident smirk, flipping her hair.
Ni-ki looked at the phone screen. "Damn. You ate that."
Luna took a peek at the footage. "I think that's the one."
Ni-ki nodded. "Now post it."
She did—right then and there.
A few days later, they were both in for a shock.
Luna grabbed her phone groggily, checking her notifications. The numbers on her screen made her sit up immediately.
25.3 million views.
"Wait, what?!"
At that exact moment, Ni-ki burst into the room, holding up his own phone. "LUNA, YOUR VIDEO WENT CRAZY."
She showed him her screen. "Look at the numbers!"
Ni-ki whistled. "25.3 million in just over a week? I mean, I still have more, but—"
She threw a pillow at him. "Shut up."
He dodged it, laughing. "I'm just saying, you might catch up."
Luna grinned. "You're lucky I let you film me. Otherwise, I'd be at 40 million by now."
