I didn't really get to know Richard's father until we'd been going out for—oh, maybe a year and a half? It felt like that, at least. I can't imagine what crossed his mind, but one day, he finally said something along the lines of, "I want you to meet my father," and that was that. I baked a coffee cake and made a CD for the Chicago drive. Richard seemed irritated but asked for his iPod only two times. Then, we were there, and Julius seemed so much older than I'd pictured him.
