Johnnies POV~
We screamed of freedom. We were so high, so happy, so together. "Wooooooooooo!!" Jeremy screamed. We ran through the field that Chris had showed us a few years back.
We had stolen some Sharpies from the store and sniffed all of them. We were also high on cleaning products we found under the kitchen sink. It was Jeremy's idea. I was happy though. I wanted to know how it feeled to not have any cares. Just your friends and the world around you.
We scurried over to the lake and we all stripped into our underwear, even Skylar.
The water was perfect. This summer was perfect. They were perfect.
Too bad it's all gonna end soon.
Why? That damned voice.

It didn't answer.
We played truth or dare, spin the bottle (or spin the phone in our case), and then we talked. "I'm gonna start a band," Chris said. "I can play the ukelele now." Added Skylar who kept giggling to herself, like her neck was telling jokes to her brain.
"This is sooooo weird," I slurred before falling asleep.
