Later in the evening after my talk with the she-rogue, Stephen and I met in our room. We had this anger built up towards each other, and mine was mixed with guilt and feeling stupid. I couldn't bring myself to apologize just yet, and I just didn't feel like snuggling. Stephen tried to hold me but I walked out of his embrace. He let me know of his displeasure as he walked over to the bed.

"Mate, come lie down on the bed next to me, we need to clear the air."

"You know what, Stephen? You always order me around, and I just don't feel like it right now. I need a little space is all."

Stephen raised a brow and just looked at me, I think I surprised him. "Danika, come over here, we need to talk about your foolish conversation with the she-rogue this afternoon."

"You know what? We really don't." And I turned on my heel and walked out the door. I walked down the stairs rather quickly and walked to the back of the house and out the back door. I walked over to a nice bench next to the forest, it was dark outside now but I wasn't afraid. Most werewolves don't fear the dark since we're stronger than anything else in the forest. I knew Stephen would come after me, but I just needed a little space like I told him. And right on cue, Stephen marched out the door and stood right in front of me. I felt his anger ripple around me, but I was entitled to have a little bit of space to breathe, and make some of my own decisions. I considered my mate, I included him on most of my decisions, but I was tired of him picking out bodyguards for me and smothering me. I was tired of the whole thing and just needed some space to think.

"You're being disobedient, Mate." Stephen finally said folding his arms across his chest. I just looked at him and raised one of my eyebrows like he did earlier. Which only made him angrier as his breath hitched.

"Come with me Danika, now." Stephen issued a challenge, but what the hell? I'm not a slave, I'm an equal.

"I need some time to think, Stephen. I'll be up in a little while." I just looked down at the ground, I just needed my space. I thought I was being reasonable, I needed to calm down before I talked to him.

Stephen obviously had some other plans and just reached down, picked me up and flung me over his shoulder. He walked to a side entrance to the enormous house that I wasn't familiar with, and I was sputtering and threatening him to put me down or there would be dire consequences. Opening the side door he went down a short hall to a room I hadn't noticed either. It also had a number pad, and he punched in some numbers and the door opened, I mostly heard this since all I could see was his back. It was a little difficult to look around, but I realized it was the same dark room that he had once shown me in a memory flash at the cabin. Where I was hanging from the ceiling in chains and he was spanking me, what the hell?

Stephen walked to a mat and dumped me down roughly. He then moved to a locker and started to get some things out of it. I scrambled up immediately and decided I was in no mood for his games today as I walked back to the door with a little dignity. Only the door was locked and wouldn't open, of course it was locked. I took a deep breath and tried to calm down. Stephen was ignoring me for now and I blew out my breath and turned to look at him while squeezing my fists tightly. He appeared to be getting equipment out of the locker and laying them on a table. Good god were those handcuffs? And... a short... whip? Is he kidding me?

Stephen continued to look stern, and when he looked at me his eyes were dark. I knew I was in trouble, I pushed the Alpha too far tonight and his wolf was out. But I get to make some of my own decisions! I get to live my life the way I want to- at least a little bit- while trying to consider my Mate's point of view. Well maybe I didn't do that today, but overall I had changed my entire life for him. I started getting a little nervous and licked my lips.
