We go back to school on September 2nd. I am on the soccer team, and so far we've had four practices. Erin, Maggie, and Melanie are on the soccer team, too.

We practice at the high school, at the same time as the football players. But they practice one hour longer than us, so if my dad doesn't come pick me up right after we're done, I can stay and watch them. [I could never really tell who was who, though, on account of their helmets.]

Erin's mom drives her home at the same time as her older brother (the one who went to sloppy second base with Jenna), so Erin doesn't leave until 8pm, when the football players finish. Today, Erin's mom was giving me a ride home, so I stayed after with her. Maggie stayed, too.

Zach is one of the football players. When their practice was over, Erin, her mom, and I were walking to her car, and I saw Zach with his parents and his little brother. I didn't say anything, of course.

But we made eye contact, and then I got in the car and we made eye contact again, through the window. He was parked right in front of us, and Erin waved to him, and I glared at him, and then we drove away.

I shouldn't even be liking boys yet, honestly. They should still have cooties. And here I am, obsessing over Nathan and now Zach again. [This is a bit of surprising perspective. But the only thing I was worse at than soccer was not having crushes on boys.]
