"Now for homework I want you all to read pages fifteen to twenty in your text book and answer question 5 on page twenty one." The teacher had given another ridiculous amount of pages to read in the textbook for homework.
The class groaned as the bell rang for the next class. The students began to collect their supplies and head straight for the door. Emily did the same and went to her locker before moving to the next class.
Emily put away her notebook from the last class and put her text book in her backpack. She had put the last notebook into her backpack and shut her locker. Once she was ready, she began to head for the stairs.
Before she could even take her first step down the stairs, she was pushed all the way down hearing a crack echo through out the stairwell.
Emily couldn't move her left wrist to help herself up. Instead she lied there on the nasty school floor. A shadow had blocked the light and saw Kelly standing above her. Another girl helped her up and pushed her against the wall. Emily had tears running down her face.
"I dumped Adam. Please leave me alone." Emily begged, but that didn't stop Kelly from punching her in the face. "We'll next time you should make sure that the guy you're about to date hadn't just broken up with the head cheerleader." Kelly said to her.
Emily was then punched in the gut and slapped in the face. "How the fuck was I supposed to know that he'd just broken up with you?" Emily asked.
"First of all I broke up with him, and second, I'm gonna beat the living shit out of you." Kelly backed up and hit Emily in the mouth. Kelly's two friends just stood there and watched as Emily got a beating.
Every second was hell for Emily since Kelly would throw hit after hit. Kelly ended the beating with twisting Emily ankle and left her there like trash.
Only twenty minutes later was she discovered by a teacher passing threw the halls. He whipped out his walky talky and called the nurse and the principal.
"Mr. Brice and Ms. Alice! Come to the secret staircase now! I have an injured student on the ground!" An ambulance was called and Emily was whisked away to the hospital.

Ian had gotten the call a half hour later and got there as fast as he could. He brushed through the doors and saw his only child in so much pain.
He became teary eyed and very angry. He clenched his fist threw the vase, that was sitting on the table, against the wall, then broke down and cried. Emily turned her head and looked at her father. "Dad, it's gonna be alright." Ian looked at her, kneeled by the bedside and almost yelled in her face.
"It's gonna be all right? Emily you're just pushing this bullying thing away like it's nothing. You just got beat up because of some dickhead and you're saying it's "all right"?" Ian calmed down a bit and began to talk normal.
"I'm dealing with this and ending it now. I don't care what you say, I'm not letting you die and lie in the ground like your mother." Ian started to cry again and Emily held his hand that was resting against the bed.
"You...still love her, don't you?" Emily asked him. Ian slightly nodded his head and looked away. Both Ian and Emily knew that his love for Alicia wasn't deep. It was more of a "I really do miss you" feeling. Emily had nothing else to say. That's when the doctor walked in. Ian looked at the doctor and sighed.
"How is she doctor?" He asked. "We'll she has a broken wrist, a twisted ankle and really bad bruises. She won't be able to attend school for four weeks." The doctor gave him all the info Ian needed.
"Thanks." Ian began to think when the doctor had stopped and to let him know he was paying for the broken vase. Besides the vase, Ian knew he had to stop this himself.
