part 23

*Levis pov*

"What happened your arm man?" Nate asked me when I walked out of the elevator.

"Ran into the door." I mumbled.

"Maybe you should get it checked out, it's not a nice colour." Nate says pointing at my brownish bruise.

"It'll be fine. Let's go to the beach."

It was a fifteen minute walk to the beach. It was nice being in the sun and fresh air.

"Is everything okay babe?" I asked Alexis.

"Um yeah, just enjoying the sun, why?"

"You just seem a little quiet that's all"

"Honestly im okay."

I lay down beside Alexis and wrap my arms around her waist.

"I love you, you know that" I whisper softly to her.

"Of course I do. I love you too Levi."

She shuffles away from me.

"Babe, why are you moving away from me?"

"I'm not" she says softly.

"You just did. What's the matter?"

"Well, I, nothing, nothing it's fine." She says fastly.

"Listen to me, I know you and I know you're not okay. Tell me what's wrong." I say sternly.

"What's going on?" Drew asks sitting down beside us.

"Nothing Drew. Leave it." I basically shout at him.

"Levi, don't be so rude." Alexis snaps at me.

"If you tell me what's wrong, I wouldn't have to be so rude."

I can feel tears well up inside.
She just looked stunned.

"Do you not trust me enough to tell me whats wrong?"

"Levi of course I trust you."

"Then tell me."

I can see that she is trying her hardest to stay calm.
She just looked down.

"I knew that you didn't trust me." I say sharply as I get up and leave.

"Levi, don't leave." I hear her shout.

*Alexis pov*

"I've messed up so bad haven't I?" I say as I cry into Drews top.

"He'll calm down. Do you want to tell me what happened?" He asked.

"No, I don't want to talk about it." I say breaking away from the hug and wiping away my tears.

"Alexis, oh god, is everything okay?" Austin asks running up to me and hugging me.

I shake my head into his shoulder.

"Levi said some things he shouldn't have" Drew explains.

"Where is he now?" Austin asks.

"I don't know, he left about five minutes ago"

"Hold on, I'll call him" Nate says.

*Levis pov*

I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket.

"Caller ID: Nate."

"What?" I answer.

"Where in God's name are you?"

"I need space."

"Why did you do that to Alexis?"

"Do what Nate? She doesn't trust me. What's the point?"

"Right now, she's crying into Austin's shoulder. You better fix this mess."

Why am I such an idiot.
I look down at the water. It's about a fifteen metre jump.

"Levi?"

"Levi answer me."

I begin to cry.

"Are you crying?"

I don't even have the energy to hang up the phone.

"Excuse me, young man, are you okay there?" I hear a strange voice say.

"Levi, who is that?"
Nate is still on the phone.

"No im not okay."

"Levi, where are you?"

The strange man picks up my phone.

"Hello, your friend, who I guess is called Levi, is sitting on the edge of a bridge."

"Can I talk to him?" I ask the man as I wipe away my tears.

He hands me the phone and gets up.

"Nate, tell Alexis im sorry. I shouldn't have said what I said. I'm a horrible person. I think im going to jump."

"Levi, im coming to get you."

*Nates pov*

"Guys, come on, it's Levi."

"Where is he?" Drew says, running along side me.

"On a bridge. There's only one bridge in this area and it's two minutes away from here."

We reach the bridge to see police tape and squad cars surrounding the bridge.

"Sorry you cant get by here." A policeman says to us.

"The boy... is he okay?" Alexis asks.

"Which one of you is Nate?" A strange man asks.

"That's me."

"Come with me."

I follow the old man, about in his sixties with gray hair.
He leads me to an ambulance.
I see Levi lying inside.

I gasp.

"Levi..?" I whisper.

I hear a faint reply.

"Nate."

"Buddy, im so happy you're okay."

"This young man beside me, stopped Levi from jumping at the right time."

I look at the young, blonde boy.

"Thank you so much. How did you stop him?" I ask him.

"Well he was standing on the wall and I ran in and grabbed his waist and pulled him off the wall."

"Levi has a few cuts and bruises. But most importantly a back injury. He is very weak at the minute." The old man tells me.

I slowly get into the ambulance.

"I'm sorry" Levi whispers.
