By the way, i know the timeline i'm using doesn't exactly follow what is suggested in the film, but most of the timeline i use is from the books. However i will be making the journey much longer so that the relationship of Kili and Keerla is more realistic, sorry if you don't like it

Without much to argue on, the company followed the wizard down the rocky path towards the bridges leading into Rivendell. While the dwarfs looked around in awe, Keerla closed her eyes and let herself get lost in the cool air and the comfort of good memories.

"If we are to be successful, this will need to be handled with tact and respect and no small degree of charm. Which is why you will leave the talking to me. And i mean you too, Keerla."

Jerking her eyes awake, the Elleth pouted and attempted to cross her arms, only to remember Kili still held her hand. He just laughed at her face and tugged her along after the others.

"You look at peace here," he told her, watching her smile.

"I am at peace in many places," she shrugged, "Here, in Lothlorien; in the Blue Mountains . . . as long as i have those i love and cherish, i will always find some happiness."

"What about when you're with me?"

She glanced at him, but Kili had turned away, trying to hide his bright red cheeks and worried expression. Biting her lip, the Elleth decided to throw caution to the wind.

"I could never be happier than when i'm with you, nothing pleases me more."

It was her turn to look away, and Kili grinned wider than ever. He opened his mouth to tell her how he felt, but found himself unable to continue. The company had gathered in a small courtyard at the base of some steps, and they were close enough to hear what would be said. Later, he decided, and rubbed his thumb over Keerla's knuckles before pulling away.

Smiling shyly at him, Keerla moved through the dwarfs to stand with Gandalf, who was in the process of greeting Lindir, a dark haired Ellon serving under Elrond.

"Lady Keerla," he bowed, giving her a smile.

"Hello Lindir," she nodded, as the dwarfs behind her whispered to each other.

"Stay sharp," she heard Thorin tell Dwalin.

"Lastannem i athrannedh i Vruinen, (We heard you had crossed into the Valley)" Lindir spoke, not paying the company any attention.

Without explaining, Gandalf said, "I must speak with Lord Elrond."

"My lord Elrond is not here."

"Please, Lindir," Keerla murmured, "Where is he? This is of great importance."

The Ellon would have answered, if the elvish horns from the plains had not sounded behind the group. Keerla smiled slightly, turning as Elrond and his armed horsemen trotted over the bridge toward them. Amongst them, Keerla could make out Elrohir and Elladan, both of whom grinned at her.

Thorin and the dwarfs formed a defensive circle, keeping Bilbo in the middle. The elves surrounded them on their horses, moving round them constantly to put them on edge, but eventually came to a stop. Elrond separated from the others, coming forward and smiled at Gandalf and Keerla, both of whom bowed at the waist. Elrohir and Elladan joined them, sandwiching Keerla in a hug.

"Squishing me, squishing me!" she squealed, shoving them away, "Do you always have to do that?"

"Of course, as honorary little sister-" Elladan grinned.
