These kids

I'm sitting here looking out the window
I'm watching the kids
Thinking about when I was their age
I was so naive
I thought the world was great
That I would always be safe
I didn't know about bullying
Or terrism
I knew of Popsicles
And friendship bracelets
But I got older
Kids got meaner
And life got harder
So I hope these kids learn fast
And enjoy the fun while it lasts
And then fix the world so that when there watching the kids
They won't think the same
They will already live in a world with safety and happiness
A world where all are equal and loved
