Parker's POV

"Parker, is that you?"

I sent my grocery cart flying into the cart return before turning to see Mrs. Littman standing behind me, furiously waving me down from across the parking lot.

"I thought that was you!" she said, with a bright smile, as she made her way over to me.

I shoved my hands into the pockets of my jeans, smiling back at her as she approached me.

"How are you sweetie?"

"I'm great," I said, flashing her a smile, hoping that she didn't see through it.

But it was Mrs. Littman. At 73-years old with thick-rimmed glasses and walking towards me with the aid of a walker, I highly doubt that she could perceive my emotional well-being.

"I just wanted to thank you for the flower arrangement you had delivered," she said, as she finally reached me. "That wasn't necessary of course, but it looks great in my new dining room."

"Well I know that Marco's makes your favorite arrangements, and I knew that you'd need something to spice up that new grand foyer."

"It's just perfect."

"I'm glad you think so."

My phone buzzed in my pocket, and I checked to see that Mr. Winston himself was calling me.

"I'm sorry Mrs. Littman, but the boss man himself is calling me. So I'm afraid I have to take this. But I'm glad you enjoyed the arrangement, and I hope that your house works out for you."

"Oh I just love it! And I owe it all to you."

I chuckled, thanking her once again before stepping around to the driver's side of my car and answering my phone.

"Where are you?" Mr. Winston demanded.

"Publix?"

"Tallahassee, near Florida State?"

"Yeah."

"That couple wants to see the Victorian home again."

I tried not to let my irritation seep through. "Right now?"

"They just got off work and they want to swing by before the holiday weekend. I told them I'd check on your status. Are you available to show the house or not?"

I hadn't slept at all last night and Emily was going to meet me at my place tonight before our flight tomorrow.

I needed sleep, even if it was just an hour's worth. I was running on Starbucks and a shitload of luck.

"Okay," I agreed, running my hand across my face. "But they've seen the house three times now, what are they hoping out of this one?"

"Well close the deal and we'll be done with it."

"I've closed three deals this month," I reminded him.

As though he needed reminding.

"I'm just as irritated as you," Mr. Winston relented. "I don't what they want out of this showing. Lay it on thick."

I always do.

"I'll see what I can do."

"I'll call them back and let them know you can meet them. You know they'll be there in 15 or less."

I glanced at my groceries in my trunk. "Great. I'll start heading there now."

I pulled a pair of slacks and a button-up shirt that I always kept stashed in my backseat, changing on my drive over to the place.
