Hopkins smiled after he heard the click of the lock. With his fingertips, he slowly raised the glass. The amethysts were resting with a purple glow against the black velvet of the display.

She held his wrist. "Alarm," Clark muttered, indicating the little wire tied on the necklace. He grunted. Hopkins knew what would happen if they tried to break the damn red wire.

"Ideas, honey?"

"Grab it and run." Hopkins raised his eyebrows. Turkish screams and quick footsteps came through the door. Clark pulled the necklace and the alarm roared. "And shoot everyone."

She threw him a pistol. Lethal ammunition this time.
