"Ryder, please. Damn it! Just call me back." This is the 3rd message I've sent her today. I know she's mad at me, and she has every right to be. I said somethings I shouldn't have..I just don't understand why she cares about them so much when they lied to her their whole friendship.

I know she wouldn't lie to me-and not just because I'm her Alpha.

Yes.

I am her Alpha.

She knows she can't handle this all by herself. I can keep her under control, and I don't want the Dread Doctors around her, in any way, shape, or form. I get that they turned her into what she is, but I can control her.

To an extent.

Control is overrated,  to be honest.

I don't want to make her feel like I own her. She's my girlfriend before me being her Alpha.

Anyways, I'm about to go find Tracy, when I get a text from Ryder:

"They know. They figured it out. They know how to save the Sheriff. Thanks for you help. Don't bother looking for me tonight."

What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

I call her again, but it goes straight to voicemail. This is ridiculous. I can't believe she's telling me not to worry about her. I'm her Alp-I mean boyfriend.

I'm her boyfriend.

"I'm ready." Tracy says, standing next to me. We walk into her fathers hospital room. He's hooked up to an IV, and has a breathing mask on.

"Looks like he remembers you." I say. He starts moving a little when he recognizes her. She just stares at him. I can understand her feelings right now, I mean, she's just now seeing him since she tried to kill her lawyer. But that doesn't matter. We came here for one reason, and one reason only. "I'll take care of it if you want me too.All you have to do is ask...."

She looks at his IV bag, then sticks her Kanima finger in it, and let's nature take its course.

After that, we leave.

The next day, she's still not talking to me. I did what she asked me to do, and I'm giving her space, but there's just so much space I can give her as her Alp-

Boyfriend.

As her boyfriend.

Right now, I'm at the school, looking for Corey. I know he's with Mason and Liam-and I totally understand why he still wants to hang with them. They're his age, and they were friends before he was turned. And I don't want to ruin whatever him and Mason have, because I actually like them together. They're a cute couple.

I'm in the hallway, and I can tell he's camouflaging.

"You don't have to hide from me, Corey"

He reveals himself from the lockers. "I was trying to do something nice."

"You were trying to do something normal " I tell him. "But you don't have to be normal anymore. And you definitely don't have to be nice."

"Well I don't want to hurt them.

"I don't want you too, in fact, they don't knowing yet, but we're going to protect them. Just like I'm going to protect-" "Ryder?" He asks, cutting me off. My heart actually skips a beat when he says her name.

"I was going to say you, but her to-" I stop talking because I hear movement. I look up, and it's her.

It's Ryder.

"H-hey." She says, breathlessly.

"Hi." I say, staring at her as I move away from Corey. We kind of just awkwardly stare at each other. Corey tries to leave, but I stop him. "Your going to come with me, and you're going to do everything I tell you to. Because I know you don't wanna die again. Do you, Corey?" I ask him. He shakes his head "no." I tell him to wait for me in my truck. He leaves, and it's just me and my girlfriend.

"He told you?"

"I'm not mad at him."

"Good."

"Yeah."

"Mason really likes him."

"I know."

"Don't do anything stupid, Theo." She turns to leave, but I grab her arm.

"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry."

"I can't do this now Th-" "I'm your Alpha! You-" She cuts me off by slapping my in the face.

"You think you have some kind of-of own to me now? Like I'm like Hayden and Corey and Tracy? Like-like-" I cut her off by kissing her. When I let go, I hold her face gently in my hands, and stare right in her eyes.

"I keep messing this up, I understand that. I'm so sorry. I am in love with you, okay? I am your boyfriend before I am your Alpha. Please, you scared the living hell out of me. You can't do that, Ry. You can't not talk to me for 2 days. They may be my pack, but you are the love of my life, and you're wellbeing comes before theirs, okay? I love you."

Her eyes water, and she hugs me. I take in her scent, because I've missed her so much. She pulls away and stands on her tippy toes and kisses me. "I love you too."

"Now, we have to go have a meeting with another Alpha and his pack." I say, putting my arm around her shoulder and we walk to my truck. She smiles, a genuine smile, wrapping her arm around my waist and we leave.

Oh, and has anyone guessed what Ryder is yet? It's kinda obvious lol I left so many hits when I wrote the first half of the season*
