*this episode is going to be cut into 3 parts. The first 2 are the flashbacks, and the 3rd one is what's happening at the school.*

Date: 1760-French-Indian War
Place: North America-French Territory

It's a rainy night as 2 men in uniform run for safety. It's also a full moon.

To rest, Sebastian sits under a tree and begins to write a letter to his sister:

"Dear Marie Jeanne,
I wish I had better news to report, but with the support of our Indian allies, we are losing this war to the British. We've heard news that Montreal has fallen...Marcel and I had both suffered injuries. All that keeps us is the hope of seeing our home again, and of seeing you, my sister."

After finishing his letter, Sebastian and Marcel start out again. They finally find a small little cottage to rest at.

When they go inside, they blow out all the candles that were lit. They didn't realize it, but there's still someone in there. It's a woman, and she says, "You can't be here. You've come to the wrong place to hide. There's something out there. Something out there the British sold."

"What do you mean by that?"

"A creature of the night." She continues.

"Don't listen to her."

"A shape shifter. A demon."

Sebastian walks towards her, holding his candle up. "What kind of Demon?"

"A Demon Wolf."

Outside, a group of red coats stand guard with their bayonets , pointing at the wooden cabin. Out of nowhere, they start getting attacked by...a creature.

Sebastian never got his letter sent out to his sister.

***

Marie Jeanne, a beautiful, curly haired woman, stands looking over the town. She takes her hood off, and heads towards the village. She goes into a bar, and sits down to tend to her crossbow.

Seeing someone posting a flier up that says, "Recherché La Bète," with a supposed picture of it below, she kindly shoots an arrow at it, to hold it in place. The man gives her a silent "thank you" and continues on with his work. He grabs a black bottle, and pours some of it into her cup as she reads a letter from her brother, Sebastian.

"Don't give up hope." The man says to her.

"Her name was Agnues, and she was 11 years old." Says someone rather loudly in the bar. "Eleven, torn limb from limb." There wasn't enough of her left for a proper burial."

Marie Jeanne listens carefully whilst peeling her Apple.

"I am well aware," his friend starts. "I'm also aware that every new report conflicts with the last. Some say it is part hyena, part wolf. It has red fur, black fur...cloven hooves, a stripe down its back."

"We know it kills at night." The owner says.
"It targets the head and neck. This, we know for sure."

"It won't stop. Where the wolf finds a lamb, there he seeks another."

"But it never eats its victims. It kills for sport."

"No animal kills for sport." The gray beard guy argues.

"This is no animal." His friend says.

"Tell that to the king. I have word he may send a contingent of his own professional hunters. Until then, we can use volunteers for a hunting party. Especially someo to lead it."

"May I ask for a volunteer?" A voice says out of no where. We all know who the best hunter is here in Gévaudan."

Marie Jeanne turns around, to only see her brother standing there in one piece.

"Marie Jeanne Valet, my sister." He says as she runs over to hug him.

Everyone chants Marie Jeanne name when she is volunteered for the hunt. Not long after, someone comes it a dead boy, held in arms. His name is Emile, and he was the owners son. He was found in the woods, and his last words whispered were...La Béte.

"I do not know what creature has done this," Marie Jeanne starts, tears streaming down her face. "But the hunting party starts at dawn."

***

Everyone sets out for the hunt. They searched from Dawn to Dust, hoping to find the Beast where it slept. But they knew they'd most likely only encounter it at nightfall.

It was just after midnight when the first torch went out.

They hear screaming and growling. Marie Jeanne and her hunting party is on alert now. They all go towards the noise and they hear someone call out "Marie Jeanne" in a plead for help.

Hearing another growl, Marie Jeanne fires her crossbow at nothing. She hears the Beast approaching, and sees a dead body, so she starts running for safety. She sees more of her hunting party dead on sight, and then sees a glimpse of what she's up against.

She starts running again, only to injure her leg. She screams for help as she drops her crossbow. There's a tree near her, so she uses it for cover.

She can heat the Beast coming closer, so she takes out one of her knives for protection. She's slowly backing up as it gets closer to her.

Thinking "this is it. I'm gonna die right here, trying to save my village,"someone comes to save her. He grabs her and tells her to get down as he throws out a cover of Mountian Ash for safety.

Smart boy.

The Beast doesn't realize that's his kryptonite, and he tries to cross the barrier, only to get pushed away by the powerful magic behind something he, as a beast doesn't understand.

It's 17th century France, no one know what special qualities Mountian Ash has over the supernatural, except for people who still believe.

It disappears, and her protector stands up, confused.

Breathless and great-full that this man saved her life, Marie Jeanne says in horror, That-That was no wolf!"

"Of course not, you fool." He says, helping her up. "It was a werewolf."
