I was nominated by RiverIvy for a challenge with rules as follows:

1. You have to post all the rules.

2. You have to answer all thirteen questions, then make your own thirteen questions.

3. Tag thirteen people.

4. You have to legitimately tag 13 people.

5. You can't say you don't do tags.

6. Tag backs are allowed.

7. You have to do a journal entry and no comments, unless you're talking about the challenge itself.

8. You have to do this within a week.

9. Be creative with the title!

So Ivy's questions (and my answers) are:

1. Writing or reading?

Both! I fail to see how you can be any good at writing without reading, and I find both to be quite enjoyable.

2. Cats or dogs?

The cat sitting on my lap as I'm typing this thinks this question doesn't need any more answer than that.

3. Do you prefer landscapes that contain a lot of water or landscapes that contain a lot of mountains and forestry?

I prefer landscapes with a lot of water because I find water to be one of the most beautiful things on earth. It's always moving and changing: flowing over rocks, crashing ashore in waves, forming droplets on your windows, slowly melting or freezing, reflecting colors and catching light. I could watch a lake or river almost endlessly.

4. What is the ideal image of yourself in the future? How do you see your ideal job and home and family?

Well, my ideal job is programmer by day and novelist by night. The good news is that I'm one good novel away from achieving that right now. On the other hand, if I ever have kids, I might like to be a stay at home mom instead. If I get married I'll probably have lots of kids, and my ideal home would be a place that's large enough for all and small enough for us to still be close. If not, I'm fine with my apartment built for one.

5. What is something about the behavior of people that annoys you immensely?

One thing that has always annoyed me is when other people don't listen to what is being said, especially when it is important. I find it even more frustrating when they purposely don't pay attention and then, as soon as the person is done talking, they turn around and ask a question that person just answered.

6. How would you describe your personality?

I like to think that I am sufficiently complex that it would be impossible to describe my personality in just a few short sentences. If you would like an answer beyond that, I would advise that you get to know me, since I think the best way to learn about a person's personality is to actually witness their words and actions and judge for yourself with an open mind.

7. Appearance?

I have the appearance of a human. Two arms, two legs, a face with eyes and a nose and a mouth and ears. Yes, indeed, I certainly meet all of the criteria for "human".

8. What's a trait you have that you're most self-conscious of?

Ever since I had braces in junior high and high school, I've had this habit of brushing across the surface of my teeth with my tongue. I basically had to do that when I had braces because food got stuck there during lunch, and I couldn't exactly brush my teeth in the middle of the school day. After five years with braces, it just became a habit that I'm pretty sure looks weird.

9. Are you interested in fashion or do you generally dress casually?

I have no interest in fashion whatsoever. My favorite clothes are modest, comfortable, and relatively plain. Since I have a job with a casual dress code, I get to wear blue jeans and plain colored or patterned t-shirts/long sleeved shirts every day.

10. All time favorite novel?

There are far too many good novels to select just one.

11. Ivy mysteriously skipped a question... Unless it's a test! Yes, Ivy, I noticed that you left out question #11. Do I get 10 points for attention to detail?

12. Do you prefer the cold or the heat?

I prefer the cold because it's easier for me to be comfortable inside when it's cold outside. Since I get cold easily, I tend to be uncomfortable in air conditioning that's a nice temperature for everyone else. When it's cold outside, however, I can wear warmer clothing inside. I also prefer the cold because, while it's easy to bundle up against the cold, there's only so much you can do against the heat. Essentially, I'm saying that cold is easier to escape.

13. What is your religious belief, if you have one?

I purposely avoid discussing my religious beliefs here on Wattpad because I don't think this is the place for it. If you are Ivy, however, you can feel free to message me privately about it. I wouldn't mind answering just for her or for anyone else I feel sufficiently close to.

Now, since I suppose I have to nominate 13 people and tag backs are allowed:

Sorry to tag people I don't know very well; please don't be upset with me! I just don't know that many people very well, and I would have felt bad to tag anyone already tagged by Ivy... (Except you, X, because I wanted somebody to get my programming joke!)

So, my questions are as follows:

1. How do you feel about being tagged for this challenge?

2. Besides Wattpad, where do you spend the most time on the internet?

3. Tell me about some tv shows that you like and why you like them.

4. If you could acquire any one skill that you don't have a natural talent for, what would it be?

5. What's the best present you've ever gotten?

6. If tomorrow became an impromptu national holiday, unexpectedly freeing you from school and/or work, how would you spend your surprise day of freedom?

7. Name as many things as you can that you like about yourself.

8. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

9. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

10. What kind of animal do you think is the most adorable?

11. What's your favorite kind of candy?

12. What do you dream about?

13. What is the one question you wish I would have asked? Answer it now!
