It had been about a month since we'd brought Simmons back and she seemed to be adjusting, slowly. Within that month we learned that hydra was operating quietly under roslands nose and after Coulson put one and two together they killed her. He's been sulking around the office with a look of revenge in his eye. But as of right now hydra has gone under the radar.

I sighed and put my head in my hands

"What are you still doing up" Steve rolled over

"I don't even know anymore" I rubbed my eyes "it seems like I'm looking for something that isn't there"

"You need to get some sleep" he shut my laptop and laid it on the side table

He grabbed me by my waist and pulled me closer to him. I drew a pattern on his chest with my finger.

"We should go visit my family"

He gasped and jumped back a little then started coughing. "What"

I propped my self up "I think we should go visit my family"

"But you hate your family"

I shook my head "Correction. I hate my mother but occasionally she can be pleasant."

"Are you sure about this?"

"You're the one always begging for me to open up. Besides I should be grateful that I'm hero without the tragic backstory of a dead family"

He chuckled "you really do have a twisted sense of humor"

I smiled "that's why you love me" I gave him a little peck on the lips

2 days later

We pulled up to the gate and we were buzzed in then we began pulling up the long driveway.

"That is officially the biggest house I've ever seen" my jaw was on the floor at this point

"Wait until you get inside, it's like a never ending maze." She scoffed

We pulled up in front of the house and kat had to take a minute before getting out. We knocked on the door and a women who I can only describe as the spitting image of the Mona Lisa except skinnier. She had straight dark brown hair and piercing baby blue eyes just like Kat's.

"Katherine honey" she said pulling her into a tight hug

Kat however was obviously uncomfortable.

"We've been worried sick!" She scolded

"Can you let us come inside before you start yelling at me" she sassed

"Oh yes please come in"

"I'm Victoria, Kat's mom. And who might you be" she said looking me up and down like some innocent doe she was going to prey on

"Her boyfriend. Steve Rogers."

She crossed her arms "I can't believe it, then again with Kat anything is possible"

"Victoria leave the poor man alone" a man slightly resembling Victoria came to my rescue. He was wearing loafers, dark wash jeans, and a jumped with a button up shirt underneath.

He reached out and gave my hand a good shake "hi I'm ray, nice to meet you."

"Hello I'm Steve Rogers" I said smiling

"The famous Steve Rogers in the flesh. What I would have given to work with you during the war." He reminisced

"You fought in World War Two?"

"Yes sir indeed. In fact you freed me from that hydra base. Without you Kat wouldn't even be here" he smiled

I couldn't help but feel a little unsettled

"Well she talks very Highly of you" i complimented

"Well that's great, maybe we'll talk more in depth later on. How long are you staying."

"Oh a few days, give or take"

I walked over to Kat and put my arm around her waist.

"So no dad?" She asked

"He left a few months ago" Victoria said so nonchalantly

"Kids get down here!" Kat yelled and you heard the thump of foot steps parading down and down and down flights of stairs.

"Kat you're back!" They yelled running up and hugging her.

The boy stepped back and was in marvel at both of us.

"You're... You're"

I smiled "Captain America?"

He nodded looking at me wide eyed

"Come on rascals it's time for dinner" she said veering them toward the dining room then she turned around and kissed me

"What was that for?" I asked smiling

"For the torture you're going to endure at dinner"
