5th Poem: Rain

Am I the only one,

who loves the rain?

I learned to love it,

my brother showed me how.

We'd stand outside,

right on our porch,

the rain drenching our clothes.

I'd get scared,

and run inside,

when thunder clapped,

and lightning striked.

My brother wouldn't be scared at all,

he'd stay out there,

smiling in the rain.

I learned to love it from him,

and you will too,

some way or another.

It's sad to think,

that people think rain stinks,

they say it's a bummer,

because things get cancelled,

but really it's the best,

to bring family together.

I lost my fear of thunder and lightning storms,

a long while ago.

I now jump in puddles

and splash all around,

not caring how loud or

 immature I sound.

I don't run from the rain,

I embrace it,

walking straight through

my held high,

laughing, looking up to the sky.

Here i sit in my bedroom,

on top of my white toy chest

window's blinds up

staring outside.

I had seen the beautiful rain earlier,

when I first started writing this.

It was pouring down fast,

rain on a mission.

I smiled, watching it flow.

I used to think that the rain

was God's tears,

but over the weary years,

I decided that it was his way

of getting us through another day.

God is washing away the pain,

allowing you to shed your tears,

keeping them concealed,

in the fast pouring rain.

He is washing the world,

starting all over again.

I look out of my window,

seeing the rain splash into fast forming puddles,

dancing around like a 5 year old child.

I love the rain,

it conceals the feels,

washes some away,

and plays beautiful songs,

that keep me at bay.

I miss the days,

I'd see my brother,

the days when we

would just stand in the rain.

I don't care about my hair,

let it get wet.

Forget an umbrella,

I'll take the wash from the rain.

Rainy days really aren't bad,

they are actually quite beautiful,

you just need to find

someone that helps you realize it.

After all,

rainbows don't form

until after the storm. :)

So yeah, I love the rain and uh yeah! That's all I got!! Oh, and I didn't choose this song because I'm sad or anything, I chose it because it's a song on my dad's music box playlist that we used to sing to together while in the car. When I was younger, sometimes this song would come on and I'd wonder what made the people singing it so sad. I sang to it all the time and it's just a really beautiful song. Byeee!!!
