"Thanks, Emily." I smiled slightly at her as she handed me a cup of lemonade. She returned my smile and left me alone at the table. It was only her and I at the house, Sam and the others had gone out for the day. It was well past noon and I hadn't received a word from anyone on how everything was going. It worried me but I knew that they'd call if something bad had happened.

According to the only text Bella sent me last night, her plan had worked. Charlie believed she and Edward ended their relationship and she went back to Phoenix. She said that she told him that I decided to stay here at Sam's for the rest of the weekend so I knew Dad wasn't overly concerned about me. Her plan worked but I'm sure she knew what consequences she would be facing.

I curled up on one of the dining room chairs and brought my legs to my chest. I was no longer wearing the clothes Alice had lent me. Sam kept commenting on my "smell" and Emily eventually dug out some clothes I had left here last summer. It was just a simple pair of black leggings and a hoodie, but apparently to Paul I "no longer stink like a bloodsucker."

They all made it no secret that they disapproved of my relationship, but I ignored them. As did Emily. She wasn't exactly happy, but when I spoke to her about Emmett, she saw just exactly happy I was. She said my happiness was all that mattered but that she wanted to meet him, but we both knew that the odds of that were highly unlikely.

I jumped as I heard my phone ring and I reached across the table for it. The phone number wasn't one I recognized, but I answered it anyway thinking it could be Bella calling from someone else's phone.

"Hello?" I answered kindly. I received no answer, just the sound of heavy breathing. "Anyone there?"

"You made it so easy to find you." I heard a sinister voice chuckle before the female spoke again. "All it took was one little visit to your house to find out everything I needed to know."

"What do you want?" I glanced around for Emily but she was nowhere in sight.

"You of course." Victoria laughed. "And I know for a fact that you'll give yourself up."

"How?" I paled.

"Well, you do love your precious Daddy don't you?" She laughed darkly.

"Don't hurt him!" I said frantically, trying to keep my voice quiet.

"Well then come to your high school gym quickly, or your Daddy dies." She laughed and hung up. I set down my cup and slid my boots on and quickly tied the laces. I grabbed Emily's car keys and ran outside. I quickly hopped into her small silver car and jammed the keys into the engine. I buckled myself in before reversing out of the driveway and speeding away to the school.

I passed Billy's house on the way out of the reservation and saw him and Harry Clearwater outside. The window was down so I knew they saw me and I briefly saw Billy roll inside his house through the rearview mirror. I pressed harder on the pedal and crossed into Forks. I sped down the road as I neared my destination and I heard my phone ring from the passenger seat. I ignored it and pulled into the parking lot.

I parked the car in a random parking spot and turned off the engine. I heard my phone ring again and as I glanced at it, I smiled sadly as Emmett's name appear. I shook my head and exited the car, my phone still lying on the passenger seat. I slammed the car door closed and let out a small sigh as I glanced around the empty parking lot. I started walking toward the gym and I passed the empty school buildings along the way.

I knew what would happen as soon as I entered the gym and I was prepared for it. I was scared as hell but giving up my life for Dad's would be the best way to go. Dying for someone I love would be worth it. Especially dying for Dad. But I'd die with regret. I'd regret not saying goodbye to everyone I'd be leaving behind.

I finally stopped in front of the gym doors. I carefully walked up to the building and turned the silver doorknob. The inside of the building was dark but the smell of dirty gym clothes and sweat was instantly noticeable. The dim light the daylight provided only lit up the doorway until suddenly all the lights turned on. I walked in and closed the door behind me as I glanced around the semi-large building. It was empty and no one was in sight. I was alone but I felt like I was being watched.

"Little Clarissa Swan." Victoria walked out of the coach's office and began to slowly walk towards me. I stayed rooted to the floor, my body stiffening with each step she took. "Sister to everyone she meets, adored by countless others." She taunted me as she got closer to me. "Shame that you'll have to die." She used her speed and she was now standing right in front of me.

"Where's my Dad?" I stammered. She cocked her head to the side and smiled darkly at me.

"Oh sweetie, you believed me." She stroked my cheek with her freezing hand. I moved my face away from her hand and her eyes darkened. "Gullible, just like your sister." She smirked before she snarled at me and grabbed my wrist. She growled and twisted my wrist and I cried out in pain as it snapped. "So fragile." She moved her hand to my forearm and dug her nails into my skin. "So soft." She clutched my arm tighter and shoved me onto the ground. I landed harshly on my back and I whimpered from the pain that shook my spine. "What made you so different?" She hovered over me and grabbed me by my hair.

She hauled me off of the floor and I cried out as she yanked on my hair roughly. "Why did they keep you?" She taunted me. She turned my body around and my back was flush up against her chest as she whispered in my ear. "Why not just kill you?" She whispered in my ear. Her teeth grazed against my neck as she spoke and I braced myself for her to bite me but instead, she pushed me away from her and I rolled across the gym floor as I fell. I ended up on my stomach and I moved my hair out of my face to look at her.

She stood by the gym doors smirking at me. I could feel my wrist throbbing painfully and the tears leak from my eyes and I knew that she was going to kill me. Dad was safe at home and I stupidly fell for her trap. "Such a shame." She laughed darkly. "Your boyfriend's in Phoenix protecting your sister and you're here, lying on the floor about to die."

"He'll come for you," I spoke quietly. "When he finds out you killed me, he'll kill you too." She sped over to me and crouched beside me.

"And I'll be waiting to kill him too." She snarled and rolled me over to my back. She pressed her hand down on my stomach and I screamed as she broke my ribs. "Now I see why James loves playing with his food." She chuckled and punched my stomach. "But, the fun must end, unfortunately." She lifted my head and moved my hair to the side. "Any last words?" I opened my mouth to speak but someone else answered for me.

"I have a few." She snapped her head to the gym doors and growled. She looked back at me and instantly sank her teeth into my neck. I felt her teeth leave my neck and she threw me back onto the ground.

"Until next time." I watched from the floor as she dodged Emmett and crashed through the window. The only sound was the glass hitting the floor before I began to scream as my neck started to burn.

"Clary!" Emmett yelled as he knelt beside me. He looked me over before his eyes zeroed on my neck but I ignored him as I cried louder. The burning sensation was beginning to spread and I screamed out as the pain worsened. I felt him lift me and smooth my hair to the side. "I promise babe." And then his mouth latched onto my skin. I felt his lips move fervently as he sucked and my cries stopped as the pain began to cease.

"Emmett stop." I heard a calm voice tell him but my eyes were focused on the ceiling as they began to droop. "It's gone, the venom is out of her body." Emmett's lips left my neck and his arms tightened around me.

"I promise babe." was the last thing I heard as he scooped me up off of the floor and cuddled me into his chest. "I promise." And then I closed my eyes fully and drifted away.
