Chapter 6

“Wake up, sweet heart. Today is the day,” My mum soothed.

I groaned lightly turning myself over in my bed. I curled under the covers wanting just that little more sleep. The warmth of the covers were just that little bit more inviting. Why was she waking me up at this hour anyway? My parents know never to disturb my sleep. It is like the golden rule.

“Darling. Today you leave for the Mating Ball,” My mum spoke.

Mating Ball? Mating Ball! Oh my days. Today is the day I leave. Today is the day that I leave for the Mating Ball weekend. Wow. I total forgot. Today was a day of travelling. We would travel on a plane to get to Switzerland before a car journey to the special venue which was only ever used for the Mating Ball. The King and Queen’s castle for the European wolves were also in Switzerland. I shot out of bed so fast it startled my mum. She staggered back a little but I held my arm out to grab and steady her.

“Sorry mum. Just a little eager,” I spoke.

“I know darling. Come down stairs before you change. I have breakfast ready and we need to talk through a few things before we take you to the Pack house,” My mum chuckled.

She left the room not long after. My case was in the corner of the room. I had packed the night before. My Ball gown hung in a special bag which I would carry separately. In my case were my heeled shoes for the ball, an evening gown for the special dinner as well as all the essentials. All I needed to do was get myself ready. I went into my bathroom and brushed my teeth. I quickly brushed through my hair. I threw it into a messy bun with a few slightly wavy strands hanging down either side of my face.

I was still wearing my pyjamas so I went down stairs. In the next two days, my life should change for the better. People will know the real me. I won’t need to hide from anyone anymore with my mate at my side through it all.

I walked into the kitchen and sat at the table. A bacon sandwich and a cup of tea sat waiting at the table. I smiled and began to eat. My dad was already sat at the table and my mum came and sat down too. They looked at me with small smiles on their faces.

“So, you will not wear the spray to hide your scent anymore. You will wear baggy clothing until the ceremony where they split you into your power groupings as they need to be able to smell your power. Understand?” My dad spoke.

“I understand. Baggy clothing until the separation ceremony. Afterwards I can wear what I please,” I replied.

“You will be fully honest with the Marshalls. They will be on your side and need to know every detail. Of course Alpha Jackson will be there too. So if there are any problems and I mean any problems don’t hesitate to find him,” My dad spoke.

I nodded my head as I finished the last of my breakfast off. I quickly excused myself from the table then. I went to my room and pulled on a beautiful white blouse that hugged my figure and some nice leggings with ruffles running down the side. I added some knee high leather boots with a heel and then through a black baggy hoody over the top. I placed light make-up on. I was still a pretty person and I was fairly thin. I held a little bit of weight which added to my curves but of course no one knew that because my figure was hidden all the time to help mask my scent. I kept my hair in the messy bun style.
