Chapter 14

I flickered open my eyes and I was greeted with the beautiful face of my mate. He was still fast asleep with one arm draped across my waist. I smiled. He looked so peaceful lying there. His hair was in a messy bed head style that just made him look hotter. How lucky was I to get a mate like him?

I noticed the rays of the sun beginning to seep through the curtains that covered the door onto the balcony. The light decorated the floor with beautiful patterns. I wriggled from under Ollie’s grip and walked into the bathroom. I quickly brushed my teeth and washed my face before brushing my hair through. I looked into the mirror at the girl that stood before me. I was shocked. This wasn’t the girl I had seen in the mirror for the past four years.

My skin looked vibrant and flawless. The colour was perfect and slightly tanned no longer dotted with purple bruises. My hair looked vibrant and full of life. It was glossy and beautiful. The thing that changed the most was my eyes. They were no longer the dull lifeless silver, they now literally sparkled. It was like silver glitter had been poured into my eyes. I had never seen them look like this. Not once.

I also felt different. I felt loved. I felt powerful. I could feel my power surging through my veins now I was with Ollie. I felt strong and powerful. I could feel the power pour from my body. I really could. I found my fluffy pink dressing gown on the back of the bathroom door which I threw around me.

I walked back out into the room to see Oliver still asleep in the bed. I walked over to the dressing table and placed my engagement ring back on. It felt lost without it. It felt weird not having it on. It felt so right on my finger. I looked at in awe. I would never get tired of looking at its beauty.

I went over to the door onto the balcony pulling it open and going out onto the balcony. I looked out onto the back yard below. It was just as stunning as the rest of the palace. The grass was so lush and green. A water fountain dominated the middle of the yard with its beautiful water falling back down. The whole thing could fit nearly everyone in. The yard then led out into the huge forest. It was beautiful.

I took a deep breath taking in the beautiful scent of the forest behind me. This is a truly beautiful place to live. I was falling in love with the place already. This was a place I could really call home. I loved it. This was my home. I was accepted here.

I let out a little shriek and jumped out of my skin. I felt arms wrap around my waist. I was obviously too away in my thoughts to notice him come behind.

“Did I scare you angel?” I heard his voice seductively whisper in my ear.

“Ollie. You scared me,” I gasped.

I heard him laugh. “What is with me meeting you outside on balconies?”

I laughed then. I guess this was a thing. Yesterday, morning he met me outside on the balcony at the mansion. I smiled. This was becoming a common thing.
