Chapter 10: Not together!

It was Monday- School day.

I didn't do anything yesterday; I don't know enough people to actually make plans.

I get up and go to my wardrobe. I put on a pair of black leggings and a red and black plaid flannel shirt.

I go downstairs and see my mother cooking breakfast.

"You're still here?" I say as I lean on the counter.

"Yeah, I'm going later on." She says and she grabs two plates.

It's weird seeing my mother at this time, She's normally at work. Before we moved, she would always be working so I would hardly see her.

Seeing her now is strange. With my 'father' it didn't matter as I had never met him before.

"Anyway since I'm going in later, I will be home later. So make sure you have your keys." She says as she puts a plate of food in front of me.

"I will, thanks." I say as I grab the plate.

After I eat my food, I grab my keys and my bag. I look at my phone to see messages from Jace.

'Hazel! You there.?'

'I NEED YOU TO REPLY TO ME NOW!!!'

'HAZEL!! IT'S IMPORTANT!!'

When I saw the messages, I Immediately reply.

'What! What is it?'

'Nothing I just wanted you to talk to me, I'm bored. :)'

'Are you kidding me? I thought it was something serious.'

'Sorry kitten. I just miss you.'

'Your literally going to see me at school.'

'I know but I can't wait that long.'

I roll my eyes.

'Aww well too bad. I have to go. School time!!'

I shove my phone into my pocket, I hear a ping from my phone but I ignored it.

"I'll drop you off." Mum says as she takes her keys from the counter.

"Thanks."

"Who were you texting? That boyfriend of yours?" Mum asks.

"Mum I've told you this. He isn't my boyfriend." I say as I walk outside to the car.

"Keep telling yourself that." She says as we get inside the car.

I groan in frustration. Why does she think we're together? We don't even like each other.
