Jenna's POV

I sat on the front patio as I waited for Tyler to arrive in his usual vehicle, the cool breeze blowing against my face like pins. Usually I would stay inside until Tyler called me, but today was different. My grandparents were very talkative, and as much as I love them, sometimes I don't want to talk. I knew that Tyler would be different though, somehow he always sparks a conversation I can't let down. I always ask myself why I keep holding up such a wall, like this aggressive facade to always put him down. The only reason I can conclude with is that I'm scared. Scared of messing everything up. I couldn't allow myself to poison someone else's life, especially not someone as great as Tyler. When I first met him, I saw him as just a customer, nothing more. I tried to keep it like that, but he doesn't give up, and that's something I kind of liked about him. Tatum says she ships it, I say she needs to zip her lips. I can't fire back either because she's already dating Tyler's brother, Zack, and have been since they were eighteen.

"Hey Bella" a recognisable voice broke my thoughts. I looked up to see Tyler sitting in the front seat of a red truck, the back filled with a peculiar metal storage box.

"Where's your car?" I asked, standing up to walk over to his open window.

"At home, this is my dads, I'm taking you to a drive in cinema" he smiled, motioning for me to hop in. I rolled my eyes as I skipped over to the passenger seat, sliding in quickly.

"Like the ones you watch the movie while in the car?" I asked

"Yeah, but we'll be hanging out on the back" he pointed behind him, where the trucks tray sat.

"That's actually kinda cool" I giggled, pulling my hood down to let out my hair. Tyler smiled before he turned on the engine, the radio beginning to play old classics.

"I brought snacks as well, and there's blankets and pillows in the trunk" he explained, my head just nodding as he spoke.

The drive was surprisingly short, the only thing left to wait for was to buy our tickets on the drive in. Tyler looked pretty excited, and I finally realized I didn't even know what we were watching yet.

In all honesty, it didn't really matter to me.

"You ready for the time of your life" he chuckled, after grabbing the tickets and driving to a park. He carefully reversed the truck so the back was facing the screen, his face turning into this cute scrunched up ball as he focused.

Finally, we both got out of the truck to set up the blankets. There were enough cushions to catch a fall, making the environment very snuggly. Tyler easily leaped up onto the back, turning around to see me struggling to even step up.

He smiled, opening his arms for me to come closer, eventually wrapping his hands around my waist to pick me up. I laughed slightly because of how ticklish I was, hoping he didn't notice.

"We have many snacks thanks to my mom" he laughed, "when I went to go pick up the truck and blankets, she insisted on giving me enough food to feed a small country"

"I don't see that as a problem" I giggled, lying down in the blankets as the lights dimmed. Tyler sat down next to me, his warmth almost magnetising. He lifted up the blankets and squeezed himself in, opening up a packet of sour patch kids. I looked over to see his face glued onto the screen as it illuminated, the lights shining off his skin in a nice way.

I couldn't help but admire his features, and eventually he caught me in the act, his lips turning into a smirk as he offered me the bag of candy.

Tyler's POV

as the movie rolled through, I noticed Jenna's body becoming more and more tiresome. About three quarters through I looked over to see she had fallen asleep in my arms, her head leaned up against my shoulder. Her blonde hair fell in cute strands down her face, her mouth slightly agape as she had uneven breaths. She was so beautiful, even if she was to say otherwise. She could try and prove to me how ugly she could be, and I would still think she was the most gorgeous girl in the universe.

Suddenly I realized the credits were scrolling, and cars were lining up to leave. I sighed as I looked down at the empty candy wrappers, never wanting to leave from this spot.

As more cars disappeared from the cinema, I finally decided to start packing up, leaving Jenna to sleep until I had to move her. She always looked so peaceful, like there was no worry in the world if she was there. As I finished everything I needed to do, I wrapped Jenna's small body in a blanket, picking her up elegantly, trying not to wake her in the process. I somehow managed to get her in the passenger seat with a pillow, her facial features being so soft and pure. As I began to drive out, I tried hard not to wake her with my driving, the potholes not giving me any justice.

I decided to go straight to my house and I would pick up my car tomorrow, seeing Jenna probably needed the sleep, I wasn't going to wake her. She wasn't that hard to carry up into my room, especially because I had done it before. Mark was up eating ice cream when I walked through the door, not questioning what I was doing. He just nodded and went back to his room.

As I placed her frigid body on my mattress, I stroked a piece of hair out of her face, pulling the blanket over her as she sunk into the bed. I admired her face for a moment just to let her beauty sink in once again, and as creepy as it may sound, I could stare at her for hours. Eventually I turned around to leave the room, but was interrupted by a small squeak.

"You don't have to always sleep on the couch when I'm here, it's your bed anyway" Jenna croaked, still half asleep.

"I sleep on the couch so it's not uncomfortable, but it's alright, good night bella" I replied

"No wait" she said again, my head turning to see her blue eyes shining back at me. "Please don't sleep on the couch"

"What do you mean" I chuckled, "I can't sleep in the fridge"

"No silly" she yawned, "come here, it doesn't make me uncomfortable"

"Are you sure?"

"Tyler, I fell asleep on you" she giggled

I shrugged, slowly sliding into the bed with her, her breath becoming deeper as she got comfortable.

"Are you wearing skinny jeans to bed?" I could hear her smile in the dark

"Well you wouldn't let me leave to get changed" I laughed

"Go put some comfortable clothes on" she directed

"And what about you, do you want some of my clothes?"

"Do you have tracksuit pants?"

"Here" I said, throwing a pair from my drawer. "I'll be back in a sec"

--

Jenna curled up into my chest like it was something she was used to, her body moving in sync with her breaths. as usual, I wasn't very good at achieving slumber, but it didn't really matter. I had a girl I truly cared about in my arms and that's all that was important. My fingers stroked through her hair, combing the strands lightly. I couldn't help but wish this moment would never end, because it was when I was finally at peace.

I sighed, looking down at the peaceful girl lying next to me. "I really like you Jenna" I whispered, kissing her hairline as she slept.

"I like you too" she said softly, her voice startling me.
