No Deal

"What is it?" Jax asked, cutting me off, stepping in front of me to keep the guy from eyeing me.

"Merge with my pack willingly, and I will release all of your families relatively unharmed. If you fight me, I kill them all, and take your luna to replace my dead one. Either way I take your Luna, really." He shrugged like it was no big deal.

"I like those odds. I call first punch on alpha dou- Coulson." I said out loud, and Jax gave me a pointed look.

"Before I make any decisions, I want the kids."  Jax growled, and Coulson gave them a slight nudge, and they ran over to us, straight into my arms.

"And what will the decision be?" He asked calmly, and Jax, Luke, and Seth nodded at eachother.

"We'll fight." Jax declared, and the tense atmosphere was shattered in seconds. Wolves from our side rushed the clearing, taking on the visibly enhanced foes that also were now pouring out to fight.

"This is why you don't do steroids, kids." I said, pointing to the fight. They both nodded frantically, and I led them out of the clearing. They huddled together behind a tree as I shifted into my wolf. I may look like a runt, but I can take down a superwolf in seconds. I hope.

I stayed on high alert as the sounds of fighting intensified, and one of the warriors helped me defend the children. We had managed to take down two wolves who were stupid enough to get anywhere near us, and injure three who got away just in time.

Peeking out onto the field, I noticed that there were significantly less wolves than there was at the beginning, though I couldn't tell if we were winning. It's easier to know who your enemy is out on the field because either you can smell them, or they're attacking you. I took another quick look and noticed that Jax and the other alpha were nowhere in sight.

"Watch the kids for me." I ordered, and the warrior nodded as I took off, running along the outskirts of the clearing. I couldn't pick up Jax's scent, and he was definantly not in the middle of the fight. I continued around the outside of the clearing until I made it about halfway around, and saw light grey monster of a wolf taking on Seth, Jax, and Luke. It made sense that as an alpha, he would want to make himself stronger. Of course it would take three people to take him out.

Jax was facing Coulson head on, and Luke and Seth were attacking on either ssid of him. Coulson looked battered, but he just as much energy, if not more, than the three people he was fighting.

"I can't wait to take your luna." He growled out, and Jax's attacks became more vicious, but also more sloppy.

The grey wolf lunged forward, snapping at where Jax's head was, but Jax dodged it, his reaction time a bit slow.

"In your dreams, pervert." Jax snapped back, and I almost ran straight into the fight. He shouldn't be fighting for me, I should be fighting for myself. If this guy wants me, then he has to take me, because I'm not going down without a fight. I can't just rely on Jax to protect me all of the time, because let's face it, he might not always be there to take on whoever is trying to hurt me.

Finally, after just circling for a while, Coulson made a move. Apparently Jax wasn't expecting it, because he managed to land a huge bite on his shoulder. It hurt so bad I could feel it through out mate link.

With Jax handicapped, he now went for Seth. Why not try to finish Jax off? Probably because he wants to gloat if he wins. Which he won't. My mate being hurt spurred me onto the field, and I rushed in, grabbing Coulson's attention while Luke's teeth dug into his flank. With a simple kick, he launched Luke off of him, and he turned around, daring Seth to try anything.

"I'm suprised at how weak your mate is." He snorted, motioning to Jax, who was struggling to stand. I growled at him, the fur bristling on my back.

"I'm going to enjoy ripping your throat out." I threatened, starting to circle him slowly, and he let out his tiny snort again.

"For a runt, you're strong willed. I like it." He said, making my insides churn. Oh, great. Of course my body chooses now to be sick. This has been happening for almost three weeks now! He sniffed the air curiously, and looked back at me.

"Oh, that makes this so much better." He chuckled darkly, and I gave him a confused look.

"What?"

"Well, I hate to break it to you in the middle of a fight, darling, but you're pregnant." He smirked-well, as much as a wolf can smirk, anyway. He's got to be kidding. I can't be pregnant, especially right now! I wanted to wait until I was twenty at the very least!

"Once I win this, we're having a serious talk." I growled darkly to my mate, who was already healing. He gave me a pained grunt which I took as agreement.

"I find it hard seeing you win this. You're so tiny and cute." He teased, and I tensed. I am not cute! I charged him, taking him a bit off guard, but he moved out of the way just in time.

"You're fast for a runt." He commented, and I charged at him again, this time managing to sink my teeth into his right back leg. I was determined not to say anything back, or to let him get in my head.

Finally, he addressed me as a real threat, and took a defensive stance. I circled him for a second, adressing his weaknesses. His back leg was bitten, so he probably can't charge me, and he has fresh cuts and bites on his sides from Seth and Luke. Finally, throwing any thought of a plan out the window, I charged at him again, completely winging it.

He snapped at me as I came close, but I used my size as an advantage, and abruptly turned, stopping quickly at his side before biting in the middle of his fresh wounds. Despite his hurt leg, he recovered quickly and snapped his head around, sending me flying a few feet away. I looked back over and saw Jax managing to stand up. His leg looked much better than it had before.

I pushed myself up, shaking off the leaves stuck in my coat, and faced my opponent.

"Ready to give up yet?" He laughed, and I laughed back.

"Since when have I ever made things easy."

He was the one who charged this time, a slight limp in his step, and I was ready for him. I ducked underneath him, trying to grab his underbelly as he soared through the air. I only managed a few nicks, but he landed off balance just the same.

He let out the slightest whimper as he landed on his bad leg, and I ran at the temporarily handicapped alpha, sinking my teeth into his other leg and jumping back quickly.

He turned around, shaking with anger. Okay, so the ankle bites don't hurt as much as I thought they did. I looked to Jax for help, and he was by my side in a second, his leg already about halfway healed. Without any warning, he leapt forward, taking Coulson's neck and biting down hard.

  THE END IS NIGH!

So, after this we have the epilogue, and maybe a sequel? I might have jumped ahead a bit and already started writing it...

BUT

If you don't want a sequel and just wanna end it at the epilogue, that'd okay too! I won't put up the sequel until I get some feedback on this, I promise.
