"Thank the gods you're back, Bianca! That idiot didn't know what he's talking about," says Asher.
I raise my eyebrows. "Are you being NICE to me, Stoll?" I ask sarcastically.
Rose steps forwards. "He and Cyprian were trying to kill Adrien before your dad came!" she says, smiling at Asher.
"Christmas miracle," I say dryly. Asher rolls his eyes, but something else is there. I'm not sure what.
"Do you know where we are?" Mari asks, looking around.
I nod. "We're in Texas," I say.
"Can you shadow travel us to California?" James asks.
"I-I think so. Dad told me to rest a little, but I probably can make it to California-" I start.
"No. You should rest," says Cyprian, putting a hand on my shoulder. I smile. Then yawn.
"Okay, I guess a little nap won-" I fall asleep mid-sentence. The last thing I remember is Asher scowling at something near me; maybe me.
Then, I open my eyes. It's night-really late at night. I slept for so long! It was around lunch when I fell asleep. Beside me, everyone is sleeping too. Now would be the most logical time to heal them all. I walk over to Rose, and spread out my hands. I concentrate hard, and golden light flows out of my palms. The light delicately removes the glass and bits of car from Rose, seals up the scratches, and makes the blood disappear. Then, I have an idea. I stand up, and spread my hands again, concentrating harder. The light comes out, but this time, I have it settle over everyone. The magic does its work, and it looks beautiful; golden light flowing over everyone's body. Suddenly-
"Wha-" mumbles Asher, starting to sit up. I feel the magic starting to break.
"Hey! You're ruining my magic. Shut your eyes and lay down, Asher!" I snap.
"Di-Did you just call me Asher?" asks Asher sleepily.
"I- lay down! It's gonna break!" I hiss.
"What's going to br-"
"Just go to bed, Asher, or I'm going to have to try to knock you out!"
"Fine. But you still called me Asher," says Asher, slowly fading into sleep.
The magic clears. It's done. I collapse and fall back asleep.
The next morning, I open my eyes-and then immediately squeeze them shut. Bright. Ow.
"The vampire lives," jokes Mari.
I sigh, and open my eyes again. It's better, but still bright.
"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty," teases Cyprian.
"Shut up, all of you," I mumble, sleepily.
"Thanks for healing us last night," says Rose.
"No problem," I say, stretching. "Let's go to California!" I stick my hands out. "Hold on- but don't make it weird," I say.
Once everyone is holding on to part of my arms or hands (which is EXTREMELY uncomfortable)(you know, with touching), I step into the shadows.
As we fly across darkness, I hear James shout, "Holy crap! This is ten times more fun when you aren't in a car!"
I laugh.
Suddenly, we appear. Immediately, I inhale water. We're in the ocean- but not too far out. I can see the beach really close. "Let go! I'm going to drown, plus no touching," I say, gasping for air.
"Let me try to-" starts Zoë, concentrating hard. Suddenly, a huge wave comes, and pushed us hard towards the shore.
Finally, we wash up on the sand, coughing.
"Ow. I guess your water powers do work," says Rose.
Cyprian stands up, and walks to the closest person- who happens to be a lady. "Excuse me- can you tell me where I am?" he asks politely.
"Moonlight beach, in Encinitas, California," says the woman, looking baffled.
"Thank you, madam," Cyprian says, walking back over to where we are.
I grin. "One more jump to Marin County!" I say.
Reyna looks sick. "Maybe after we eat," she says.
"Sure," James says. "I know a pizza place."
"How?" asks Mari.
"I used to live here," replies James. We follow him out of the beach towards a crowded street, and a pizza place.
Twenty minutes later, we're all sitting on the beach; eating pizza.
"Since we don't know a lot about each other, why don't we do a share circle?" asks Mari. I groan internally.
"Sure?" replies Zoë, but it sounds like a question. We're already sitting in a circle anyways. "I'll go first. I'm Zoë Jackson, I'm thirteen, my mom is Annabeth and my Dad is Percy, and my younger brother is the reborn form of Luke Castellen, my parents old enemy."
Reyna laughs "I'll go next. I'm Reyna Grace, I'm fourteen, my mom is Piper and my dad is Jason, and I majorly ship Bianca's parents."
"I'm Mari, I'm fourteen, my mom is Hazel and my dad is Frank, and when I was younger, I fell of a pier."
"My name is Rose Valdez, I'm almost fifteen, my mom is Calypso and my dad is Leo, and I once lit my brother of fire and pushed him down the stairs."
"I'm Asher Stoll, I'm fifteen, my dad is Travis and my mom is Katie, and I stole my school principal's iPhone once."
"I'm James Markowitz, I'm almost sixteen, my dad is Cecil and my mom is Lou Ellen, and I once tried to use the Mist to secretly throw a baseball at someone and knock them out, but I accidentally knocked myself out."
"I'm Cyprian Macedonicus, I'm fifteen, my dad is Octavian and my mom is Rachel, and I have thirteen pets."
Everyone looks expectantly at me.
"Um, I'm Bianca Solace-di Angelo, my dads are Will and Nico, I'm fourteen, and I have a thing about touching," I say.
Zoë rolls her eyes. "Something we DON'T know, Bi," she says.
"Fine. I was created by Aphrodite," I say, irritated. I hate sharing things about myself.
"Again- something we don't know," says Reyna.
I snap. "Fine! I beat up high school boys for picking on me, my friends, and my dads for being gay. I cut them with my sword, and curse them to speak rhymes for the rest of their life if it gets bad. I've never killed any of them except for that one a year ago- Jonathan Becker- because he said some VERY mean things about everyone I care about, and I lie and say it wasn't me so I never get in trouble. Happy?" I snarl, stalking off.
I need to be alone for a little while.
