"Hey guys! How are you?" I ask as Asher and Reyna stumble into the room, looking stunned.

James notices the look on their faces first, and rushes over. "What happened?" he asks, voice dripping with concern.

"B-Bianca just called. Her parents are trying for a d-divorce, and everyone in camp is screwed up," stammers Reyna.

"We need to find this curse thing as soon as possible," says Asher unhelpfully. Normally I would point out how we're trying, but he looks a little shocked still.

Suddenly, Asher's phone buzzes. We all send him quizzical looks as he opens it, confused. Then, he furrows his eyebrow. His eyes widen. "It's from Rose. The curse is in Poseidon's realm, and Mari fell into the River Styx," he explains.

Reyna gasps, looking like she's about to faint. "She could die!" she yelps.

"Obviously," I say, but I'm still freaked out too. Mari is one of my best friends. If she died... We'd all be horrified.

Asher is texting Rose as fast as he can, his fingers flying. He has a worried look on his face, but it's also determined. I don't think he's thinking about Bianca. 

I sigh. Asher is so confusing.

Suddenly, James yelps. "Hey, um, Zoë? There's a...a sh-shark," he almost whimpers.

Beside him, Reyna grins. "Aww," she says teasingly. "Is the little baby afraid of sharks?"

James' face turns fire hydrant red, but he doesn't deny it.

"You aren't denying it!" cackles Reyna, punching him playfully on the arm.

James winces.

I turn towards the front, and shiver. A shark is staring RIGHT at us. Like not coincidentally. Dead on. I grab the steering wheel, and maneuver around the creepy shark. It watches us with its beady black eyes.

James gulps.

Reyna snickers.

Asher texts Rose violently.

I roll my eyes.
