34. surgery failed

It was going well for you.

You were glad that you were able to do what you wanted to do for Sasuke, you were relieved and this time, you hadn't regret what you have done. But that's because you didn't knew what was happening in the surgery room with the raven-haired boy.

It wasn't going well for Sasuke.

His surgery was failing...his life was still in danger.

"He's isn't..He's not responding!"

"Doctor Tsunade we're loosing him!" Shizune warned and tried to stop the blood that was leaking from Sasuke's new fresh cut. The surgery wasn't going well, and his blood loss wasn't making it any better for Tsunade.

"We can't give up just yet, the surgery was already done to (f/n), she donated her kidney for a reason!"  The blonde wiped the sweat from her forehead, as other assistants tried to do anything they could to be able to save Sasuke's life.

"It's not stopping!"

"Damnit.." Tsunade bit her bottom lip and began to concentrate on Sasuke's cut. As she began to focus, she began to think that maybe this wouldn't have happened if she had done this much faster, and she, of course felt guilty about it. With every second that passed by, she seemed to loose focus, which was not a good sign (obviously). The doctor also began to notice the color of Sasuke's blood, which frightened her. She was still afraid of blood although she's a doctor herself.

Then at that moment, her hands began to tremble, she started to get nervous while loosing complete focus and finally, the worst sound a doctor could hear had snapped her out of it. The beeping sound was heard throughout the room, the never ending noise, the red line that signaled that a person's heartbeat had stopped.

"He's-"

"No! Get the defibrillator, now!" Tsunade reacted immediately and gritted her teeth in frustration. If he died, it would be her responsibility. She didn't wanted to be responsible for another patient's dead, it felt awful.

"H-Here, Tsunade!" Shizune quickly took a hold of the defibrillator and handed the paddles to Tsunade, and the blonde quickly placed them on Sasuke's chest with caution.

A/N: I had to do some research for this chapter because I didn't wanted to sound stupid XD

"Get ready..Shizune!" Tsunade replied and took a deep breath before starting to count to three, and every time she did, Shizune activated the defibrillator.

"I-It's not working, Doctor Tsunade!" Naomi informed as she succeeded to at least stop the bleeding of the young Uchiha. Something good, at least.

"One..two..thre-"

"Tsunade!"

"W-We can't...leave him like this-"

"Doctor Tsunade!"

Tsunade then quietly let the paddles down, and stared blankly at the dead body in front of her. Another surgery she had failed, just because she let her fear get in the way, her fear of blood. She thought she wasn't fit to be a doctor, she thought that it was stupid for a doctor to be scared of blood like this. She had failed you.
