42. winning her over

READER's P.O.V

(Y/n) sighed through her nostrils for the millionth time that day and let both of her shoulders relax for a second. He was seriously such a pain sometimes, why was he acting like this all of the sudden? Even though when she made him all these nice things he still acts like an asshole! She walked downstairs and rubbed her temples gently. "Alright..(F/n), don't jump into conclusions, maybe something might have happened--"

"Look who has finally arrived." A voice rang through the female's ears, (not to mention, interrupted her small conversation with herself) no other than Shikamaru Nara himself. "We've been waiting for you.. Where is Sasuke?"

(Y/n) averted my eyes to the side and shrugged. "He doesn't want to." She explained and finally had the courage to look at Shikamaru. He always knew when she was lying. That was the exact reason why she would look away from him when she wasn't being honest, which made it much more noticeable than before.

"Liar."

"Ugh, okay, fine!" She groaned and stuck her bottom lip out. "He's acting like an asshole, I wish I could just punch him in face--! Maybe even slap the living hell out of him, you know?" She whined and stomped both of her feet multiples times. The only thing the boy in front of (Y/n) did was sigh loudly, like if the problems would go away if he sighed loud enough. It's not easy to get rid of the problems you have in life.

"Who's acting like an asshole 'ttebayo?" Naruto got in the middle of our conversation and tilted his head to side. He clearly knew what the answer was, so why would he even bother in asking?

"Don't ask questions you already know the answer to, Naruto." (Y/n) crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back against the wall. "It's a waste of time."

"You know how oblivious he is." Shikamaru said and looked at Naruto who was just showing a happy smile. "You know how happy he gets when he sees you, and he just wants to start a conversation with you too. He likes you."

Naruto didn't even denied it, because clearly everybody knew already. So what's the point in hiding it? Even Hinata knew for heaven's sake! But she kept trying, just like Naruto did. It wasn't his fault that he fell deeply in love with (Y/n), it was her fault for being so damn beautiful with a great personality.

(Y/n) grew flustered and hid her face with both of her hands. "Hey..stop that! I'm taken." She reminded Shikamaru as her voice sounded as if she was embarrassed- oh, wait, maybe it was because she was embarrassed, haha.

"He treats you like crap."

"He does not, Shikamaru!"

Naruto looked at (Y/n) as he bit into his apple every time he could get. His blue orbs took a look at her features, and wow. In his eyes, she was the definition of beauty, the definition of perfection. He couldn't take his eyes off the beautiful female, and his mind started to wander off on how happy he would be if he had her for all himself.

"I know he can be an asshole but he's really nice!" (Y/n) defended her boyfriend as a frown made its way to her face. Meanwhile Naruto looked at her in awe, and Shikamaru saying facts to (Y/n) about Sasuke, they never noticed a grumpy teenager behind them.

"An asshole but nice? I don't think so, (L/n)." Shikamaru replied using her last name, which surprised (Y/n), because he rarely used it. Only if he was actually serious about what was he saying. Is he against her dating Sasuke too?

"Are YOU any better, Nara?!" (Y/n) defended Sasuke once again, and Shikamaru did not took that nicely. For like the first time, he actually did care about an insult that was directed towards him. He was offended.

Shikamaru was about to say something back to her but the blonde stopped him before he could say anything else. Naruto put a hand on his shoulder and glanced over at Sasuke wanting to let Shikamaru know that he was there.

Brown orbs made eye contact with onyx ones. It wasn't a good look towards each other either, all that could be felt was an awkward aura surrounding the four of them. Sasuke finally looked away from Shikamaru and cleared his throat.

"I--"

"She's not the same. You've changed her, and I don't like it." Shikamaru interrupted Sasuke and walked off with a pissed off expression. The blonde boy looked at his friend walk off, and he had to admit..maybe (Y/n) did change a little bit? Ever since she started dating Sasuke probably?

Sasuke was taken aback from Shikamaru's sudden outburst. He was usually a boy that didn't show his emotions, probably because he was too lazy to even show it but this time he completely did and it was directed to him. Why were people taking his bad side now? Do they also doubt his relationship with the girl he loves dearly?

"I don't think..it's good for you to date him, (Y/n)." Naruto said what has been on his mind ever since both of them started going out. He scratched the back of his head and looked away awkwardly. "I promise it isn't because I'm jealous..It's because I care for you--"

"You're NOT making it easier for her." A voice that had belong to a female got in the middle of the conversation. Her pinkette locks moved with every step she made towards her friend, (Y/n).

Sasuke looked at Sakura and narrowed his eyes at her. "This has nothing to do with you." He reminded the pinkette as her right eyebrow twitched when she had heard that come from Sasuke.

"I know it has nothing to do with me, but she's my friend and I'm the one whom shall protect her from both you and Naruto! All you do is fight for the poor girl when she just wants to have a peaceful day." Sakura defended her friend and started to drag (Y/n) to the living room with her.

"Hey! Wait!" Naruto whined and followed Sakura to the living room, leaving Sasuke all by himself once again. "I didn't even do anything! I'm her friend too 'ttebayo!"

Sasuke looked at the trio walk away from him, and he couldn't help but feel empty. "..Don't they support our relationship?" The raven said through gritted teeth before closing his eyes and took a deep breath before he exhaled. "Why is everybody treating me like crap?"
