45. If I Stay

"Oh Kushina, why did you have to leave just like this?" Izumi, your dear mother, had said with tears in her eyes. She was honestly going to miss the Uzumaki family. The news just came so sudden to them, it caught them off guard. Izumi being an emotional woman while (Y/n) being able to control over her emotions, really showed how different they were even though they were mother and daughter.

"Don't cry, mother. Be like Kushina, she isn't crying at all-"

"I'm going to miss you too, Izumi!" Kushina sobbed and interrupted the young female's sentence, (Y/n) was wrong, but Kushina was still strong enough to beat someone's ass.

Minato sighed and cracked a smile in the end, he knew this wouldn't be the last time he would see the (L/n) family. He knew how Naruto dearly loved (Y/n), and he thought that she was perfect for his son. There was one time where had to decide between Sakura and (Y/n), but after all this time, he chose the (h/c)-haired girl.

Naruto cleared his throat trying to get (Y/n)'s attention but every time he tried to, she would make sure to comfort Kushina and her mother. Mostly because her father wasn't here to say goodbye to the Uzumaki family.

Minato noticed Naruto struggling trying to talk to her soon-to-be-wife and of course, behind his father, he decided to help out. He tapped the young woman's shoulder and he quickly caught her attention.

"Oh, hi Minato!" She forced a smile as she put a lock of hair behind her ear. Her (s/c) hands were slightly shaking because for some reason she was feeling nervous. "How have you been?"

"I've been doing great, (Y/n). But guess who really wants to talk to you." Minato grinned and averted his eyes to his son, Naruto. The blonde seemed to get nervous too the moment she laid eyes on him. "Go get him." He encouraged and gently pushed her towards Naruto's direction.

(Y/n) looked up at her friend, and Naruto looked down at her. It was really awkward, specially since Izumi, Kushina and even Minato were staring intensely as if waiting for something to happen. (Y/n) sighed through her nostrils and decided to finally say something.

"You smell like garlic."

"Yes, I know! I'm sorry 'ttebayo-"

"Didn't I tell you to take a shower Naruto 'ttebane?!"

"Kushina..shh." Izumi whispered and calmed the red-headed down with the help of Minato. After what seemed like forever, (Y/n) was the first one to speak up again.

"I'm going to miss you.. a lot." She admitted and averted her (e/c) eyes to the side not wanting to face Naruto. Even though he smelled like garlic, she was going to make sure she would hug him for a good 9928272728281916262839203 years.

"What would you if I stayed, here with you 'ttebayo?"

"I can't answer that since I know you're not going to actually stay here with me. You have to go with your family." She replied and ruffled his blonde locks. "I'm going to feel pretty lonely without you, and I'll make sure to tell Sakura you said bye."

"Can you also tell Sasuke that he should stop being a dick 'ttebayo?"

"Yes, of course. It'll be coming from me too." (Y/n) laughed and gave Naruto a small high five, something they would do if both of them agreed with each other.

"Damn, I won't be seeing you for years.."

"Just remember that this won't be the last time we're going to see each other, okay? I'm sorry I couldn't make the best of it with you. But I just want to let you know I love you."

"But not the way I want you to love me." Naruto added and smiled hoping that maybe he would be even more good-looking than he is now, maybe even better than Sasuke.

"We'll see, Naruto."

Naruto's heart skipped a beat the moment he heard (Y/n) say that, did that mean he was giving him a chance in the future? His heart was beating faster than normal by now. This is the way she made him feel. "Does that mean..?"

"I'll consider it and I'll think about it, I promise. I've come to conclusion that I feel empty when you're not with me." She replied with an honest answer and took out something from the bag she was carrying.

Naruto gasped and his eyes sparkled like a child's when it would see candy if some sort. "Is this from you?"

"No, it's from Hinata and Sakura." (Y/n) informed with a smile and gave it to the knucklehead blonde. "I told them about this, but sadly they couldn't come either." She explained as Naruto grabbed both of the gifts that were for him.

"Oh, I see 'ttebayo.." Naruto smiled and took what was now his. He looked at her mother, and noticed the scarf was the same color as her hair. How thoughtful of Hinata. "Do I get something from you..?"

"Yes, you do."

The trio that were watching gasped wanting to know what it was, but that excitement faded away when (Y/n) opened her arms for a hug.

"A hug! Even though you smell like garlic!" She spoked out and pulled the blonde into a hug. "You literally had to leave a day before Christmas, which sucks."

"You know..you'd be a nice present." Naruto whispered in her friend's ear and (Y/n) quickly pushed him away gently. "Pervert!" She scolded and hit him in the head once again. "You could've said something nicer!"

Minato facepalmed knowing that his blonde son said something that had flustered (Y/n), Naruto's soon-to-be-wife in his eyes.

He was sure they'll end up together in the end, they'll go through thick and thin. They'll go through everything just to be together.

And he wasn't the only one who thought the same way.
