This may be the wrong number, but tbh idec lol.

I've been putting this off for AGES!

Okay, let's start!

Kind of requested by mercurous

What is a psd?

PSD stands for photoshop document, but it has different meanings.

For beginners it would most likely be a way to save a file, with all the layers intact.

If you are slightly more advanced though, you would know that it's also a filter.

It's actually a lot more complicated than you think, so I'll show you an example of something with and without a PSD.

This is actually my own PSD, so if you want it, I'll link it in the external link.

A lot of people make their own PSDs, but a lot more want to know how to do that, so I'll be showing you a really bad example, that I literally threw together right now.

Step 1.)

Select your image.

I literally searched up tumblr peopl  lol

Step 2.)

Now first clear your mind. It works best if you have no idea what you want your PSD to look like. That way there is no limit on your creativity filter!

Open up the image in Photoshop, and then select Layer - > New Adjustment layer.

To start off, I chose Vibrance, and messed around with it until I got something I liked:

Step 3.)

Now basically just play around with the effects, you don't have to use them all, though, but a lot are useful.

For adding a gradient, go to Layer -> New Fill Layer -> Gradient, and for adding a better coloring option, do the same thing but go to Solid Color instead.

To group the layers, click on the first layer, then shift-click on the last layer, and press command/control g.

Now you should have a pretty good PSD.

This took me like five minutes to make so it's super bad, but remember you can always go back and change some things.

Step 4.)

Now you need to make sure that it works with other images, so get some more images, and try them out with your new funky PSD!

Now that you have a good PSD, you can just add some random title that fits, and upload that ish onto your DA or wherever!

If you have any questions just ask!
