The next morning at breakfast; Fred, George and Lee were all sat at the table when I finally made my way downstairs and I joined them in time to hear them discussing ways that they could mask their ages.
Harry and Ron were talking amongst themselves so I took a seat next to Hermione and Lee called my name.
"Silver, I got your timetable from McGonagall." he said, reaching over to hand me the piece of paper.
"Potions first," George said, "Who hates us so much that they must force us to look at Snape's face for an hour?"
"Actually, it's two hours, dear." I smiled, pointing at my own timetable, "We've got a double."
"No!" he groaned loudly, letting his head fall onto the table with a thud.
"Yeah well at least you guys get free periods." Ron said, "We've got double divination this afternoon."
"You didn't have to take that class," Hermione said smartly, "You should have dropped it like me and taken something else."
"You should have take Muggle Studies," I muttered through a mouthful of toast, "That's an interesting subject."
"You take Muggle studies?" Harry asked, "But aren't your parents Muggles?"
"Yup," I nodded, "But guess who's top of the class."
"That's cheating," Hermione said disapprovingly, "You shouldn't have been allowed to take it."
I shrugged and stole another piece of toast from George's plate since he was still face down on the table, "Kept me out of Divination, didn't it? George, I'm going up for my potions things. Coming?"
He got up from the bench, the two of us looking at Fred when he called our names.
"I won't see you 'till lunch. I've got Arithmancy all morning then Ancient Ruins and a free."
"What class do we have together?"
"Dark Arts," he said, "With Moody. It's gonna be one hell of a lesson."
George and I said a quick bye to the others before heading back upstairs, where we got our stuff from the dorms and started heading down to the dungeons.
"I still think that this is the creepiest place in the school." I shivered, pulling my cloak tighter around me.
"Tell me about it," George muttered, "It's freezing down here."
Snape was hovering at the front of the class, watching George and I with beady eyes as we entered and I was surprised to see that for once, we weren't the last ones to arrive.
We were actually first.
"While we are waiting for the remaining few," he began slowly, looking at us after a few more students came into the room, "Take out your Advanced Potion books and find the recipe for the Elixir to Induce Euphoria. This is what you shall be working on for today's double lesson. Work with the person you're sitting next to. Begin."
"Ah, ever the charmer." George whispered, making me laugh and then he cleared his throat and lowered his voice, "Can I share your book? I couldn't afford it this year."
His face burned as red as his hair and I gave him a bright smile while pushing the book so we could both see it.
For the most part, George and I got on with the potion with no issues but then somehow, when we weren't paying attention and were talking, one of us added the wrong ingredient and so our potion went from a warm and inviting yellow colour to a horrible looking grey one. And it began smoking.
