December came quickly, bringing with it a foot of snow and with Fred and George not having to attend Quidditch practice anymore, they had a lot more free time on their hands - which meant more time to annoy me.
Yes, the hour that I had to myself where I'd normally get my homework done, was gone and for the past week, I'd spent most of my evenings running around the castle trying to find them before curfew and Saturday night was no different.
In fact, it had become so difficult to find them most nights, that I gave up, recruiting Peeves the Poltergeist to find them instead which was a mistake.
It was eleven thirty when they finally returned to the common room, where they found me, arms crossed and foot tapping impatiently.
"Hiya, Love!" George said brightly, coming over to give me a kiss on the cheek, "Thought you'd be in bed by now."
"You said you'd be back by curfew," I whispered, brushing some dirt from his jumper, "George, you know Umbridge already has it out for you two. She's just looking for one more thing to get you expelled."
"Aw," Fred cooed, "Was Amy worried about us?"
"You know I was," I promised, giving him a shove, "Just promise me that you're being careful."
"Of course we are," the older twin scoffed, "You should know by now, that we are always careful."
I may have sounded like a nagging wife but honestly, I didn't care. So after rolling my eyes at him, I finally started getting ready to go to bed, gathering my things to take upstairs with me, "Well goodnight. I'll see you both in the morning."
"Goodnight," George murmured, ruffling my hair as I walked by, snickering when I gave his arm a weak punch.
"Yeah, goodnight Silver."
I trudged up the stairs, closing my eyes in exasperation when there was a loud pop from downstairs and I peeked over to see that the twins had thrown something in the fire to turn the flame a bright purple and I shook my head before entering the dorm.
Those two were going to be the death of me.
--
My dream changed.
What was once a pleasant dream of George and I walking through the beautiful streets of Paris, was suddenly dark.
The walls were sleek and smooth, the floor marble as dark as the night sky and sliding across that floor, was an enormous, dark snake.
I was walking along beside it, turning the corner with it and there, at the end of the corridor, sat a man on the floor, his chin tucked against his chest as he slept.
It wasn't hard to recognise who it was; the bright red hair was an obvious giveaway and he started to stir as the snake and I got ever closer.
The cloak that was draped over his legs fell as he leapt to his feet, reaching for his wand but the snake was quicker.
It attacked, sinking its fangs into his middle and I could hear Arthur's ribs breaking, smell the metallic blood as it seeped through his clothes and hear him screaming out in pain.
Then, he was silent, he fell limp, his body slumping against the wall.
--
"Amy! Amy, wake up!"
I did so with a shriek, feeling the sweat trickle from my brow and tears leak from my eyes but somehow, I managed to make out Hermione and Angelina, who were staring at me with terrified eyes.
