Sarah
"Hey, how did the talking go?"

Keira sighs.

"Good, I guess, however the teacher said that it was too early to start talking grades." Grumpily she crosses her arms and pouts.

"That is very true, we have barely even started."

"But still!" Keira throws out her arms, but have to stop her complaining because Mr. Ferguson arrives to the classroom. Slowly it begins to fill up with students, spreading out amongst the desks.

Keira and I sit on the far right side so I can lean my back against the wall. Halfway turned towards the board.

Moments before we are about to start, Jack walks in with a friend and my stomach tighten. Our eyes meet and I give him a small smile. Jack grins when he sees me, showing off his perfect teeth and I feel my cheeks getting hot.

Why am I so embarrassed about seeing Jack in front everyone else?

Jack's grin grows wider when he notices that the seats behind me are free. Pointing a finger, showing his friend, they walk over and sit down beside us. Keira's eyes grow wide and she looks annoyed.

"Ladies." Jack says as he sits down.

"Hi Jack." I answer a bit shyly.

Keira doesn't answer nor look his way. Jack's friend gives us a curious look, but also keeps his mouth shut.

"How has your day been?" Jack asks nonchalantly and Keira's eyebrows shoot up. She gives me a like-he-cares look and I narrow my eyes at her. Behave, I tell her with a stare.

I turn my focus back to Jack, trying to look as casual as possible. Why does he make me so nervous?

"It has been good, yours?"

"All right, but my first class was completely useless," he says dryly.

"Why?"

I try and fail not to smile. It is the class with Mrs. Neeson.

"Because our retarded teacher Neeson had mixed up the classes, so she brought the wrong exercises and papers to our lesson. Therefore she ran out the classroom as soon as she noticed, only to realise that she had actually brought the stuff and put them beneath her papers for the other class. It took her almost half an hour to figure this out and before that she nearly had a collapse. Apparently her nerves aren't stable." Jack rolls his eyes and I giggle.

"It was quite amusing though and we did absolutely nothing half of the lesson, which was chill."

"Mrs. Neeson sure is a weirdo," the guy sitting next to Jack suddenly joins our conversation. Grinning widely.

"She sure is and she rate grades in a really fucked up way. Seriously I got a C in philosophy last semester and I barely did anything."

"It sounds like you should thank her." I point out dryly and Jack gives me a tired stare, mixed with amusement.

"Shut up, Reed."

Keira's eyes almost pop out, as they grow wide in surprise. She stares at me, but I just shake my head. Jack's friend also looks surprised, but try to hide a smile.

"You are just as charming as ever, Jack." I turn my focus towards the board.

"I know you love it," he says silently, but still loud enough for all three of us to hear. Keira's jaw drops and Jack's friend lets out a loud cough.

I flush and stare at my hands.

Why did he have to make me so uncomfortable? Didn't he realise that behaving like that only would make things worse?
