Chapter 4

Once Callie caught up to the others she walked up to Brandon and said," Hey." " Hi," Brandon said while giving her a smile. Brandon looked back at the others behind them and then at Callie and asked," So uh why did Stef and Lena want you to stay behind?" Callie looked at her feet and said," Oh they wanted to warn me on the consequences that my actions could have had and I am also grounded." Brandon instantly felt bad that she was getting in trouble for helping him. Brandon slowed down and Callie did the same and he said," You didn't have to come Callie." " I know Brandon but I wanted to. What if something happened to you-", Callie stated but soon got interrupted by Brandon," So what it isn't like me getting hurt or killed would affect your life in any way." Callie shook her head and said," Of coarse it would Brandon. Do you not understand how much I care for you?" Brandon stopped and his mouth slightly dropped at the new information that he learned about Callie's feelings. " What," Brandon finally got out. Callie sighed and said," Brandon I know you aren't used to people saying that they care for you but you need to know that I do." Brandon was going to respond but he noticed that they were actually in front of the school and he said," I know lets just head inside." Callie nodded and the two walked next to each other into the school. Meanwhile Mariana, Jesus, and Jude just witnessed what just happened all though they were too far away to hear them clearly they could tell that something serious just happened. " What do you think that was about," Mariana asked the two boys. Jesus shrugged and said," Maybe something happened between them." Mariana was now intrigued by this but she was going to save it for a later time. " So Jude how about I show you around school," Mariana asked trying to change the subject. Jude smiled and said," Yeah sure." At lunch Brandon was talking to Callie while he sat down at a table and she did the same. " So how are you dealing with everything," Brandon asked still concerned about last night. Callie shrugged and said," I guess a bit better now that I opened up to someone about it." Brandon smiled, he was starting to feel like maybe him and Callie have this sort of connection but he wasn't sure. Brandon was brought out of his thoughts when Wyatt came and sat next to Callie and said," Hey babe." Callie smiled back and said," Hey." Wyatt leaned in and kissed Callie and she kissed back. Brandon on the other hand was uncomfortable by the two kissing. " Sorry but do you mind I am trying to eat lunch," Brandon said earning a rude look from Wyatt. Wyatt smirked and said," No I don't mind and why do you?" Brandon rolled his eyes and then looked down at his food. Callie started to pick up on the mood so she asked Wyatt," Why don't I just meet up with you after school?" Wyatt smiled and wrapped his arm around Callie and replied," Sounds good." " Oh wait I forgot I am grounded," Callie said feeling bad because she was blowing Wyatt off for the third time. Wyatt's smiled faded and he said," Okay I didn't want to say anything but this is the third time you have blown me off." Callie looked down and said," I know and I am sorry I have just been busy." " With what? Your new foster brother," Wyatt snapped back and once Brandon heard he sat up and gave him a death glare. Callie took his arm off of her and she said," Wyatt where is this coming from?" Wyatt rolled his eyes and said," Oh come on Cal you can't see the way he looks at you? He is probably in love with you by now!" Brandon was now offended and he decided to join the conversation," Hey! There is nothing going on between me and Callie okay, you are just a jealous boyfriend with some crazy idea of what you think I feel." Callie stood up and said," Okay enough. Wyatt I will talk to you later and Brandon just stop trying to be my protector." Callie then grabbed her lunch and back pack and left. After school Mariana and Callie were walking and Mariana asked," So I heard about what happened at lunch." Callie looked down and said," Oh you heard about that?" Mariana nodded and said," Yeah and I personally think that Wyatt is being a complete jerk about things." Callie thought back to lunch and she felt guilt rush over her and she knew that she had to apologize to Brandon. " Uh yeah let's just go home," Callie said wanting to get home and see Brandon. Once they arrived home Callie saw Brandon sitting in the kitchen talking to Lena. " Oh um Brandon can I talk to you," Callie asked hoping that he would comply. Brandon looked at Lena and said," Sure." He wasn't to pleased with the conversation that he expected that he was going to have. Callie motioned for him to follow her and the two of them went upstairs. Once they reached Callie's bedroom she shut the door and said," I am so sorry for today. I understand that Wyatt was totally out of line and that I should have stuck up for you." Brandon shook his head and said," Callie it is fine. I was hurt at first but then I realized that I would have responded the same way." Callie let out a sigh and said," Okay. Thank you so much." " For what," Brandon asked while giving her a puzzled look. Callie smiled and said," For being my friend." Brandon smiled back and said," Anytime." Callie then wrapped her arms around Brandon and hugged him. He hugged back not wanting to let her out of his grasp because he didn't want anyone to ever hurt her in any way. Callie didn't want to be out of his arms because she felt protected and safe. After a few seconds Brandon pulled out of the hug and said," Thank you for being there as well for me." Callie smiled and said," Always." Callie then leaned in and planted a kiss on Brandon's cheek making her blush a little after. Brandon couldn't help but smile after she kissed his cheek and he asked," What was that for?" Callie shrugged and said," I don't really know." With that she walked out of her room leaving Brandon to think. Her words pondered in the back of his head for the rest of the night and he couldn't get the feeling out of his head of her kiss. He hated this affect that she had on him but he couldn't help it. Little did he know. Callie was thinking the same thing. She couldn't wrap her head around why she kissed him but a thought came in the back of her mind, she wanted it on the lips rather than the cheek.
