"Kambal, kumusta na kaya si Daddy?" I suddenly asked Ara habang nanonoud kami ng TV. It's a Saturday afternoon at walang tao rito sa bahay maliban sa aming tatlo at ang iba pa naming mga katulong.
Mommy went on a grocery shopping with Ate Lily, si Caeleah naman— well she is sleeping soundly at my room.
"Nah, he's good. He texted me earlier telling me na magpakabait daw kami ni Cae dito habang wala siya, we should not give Mommy a head ache raw!" natatawa niyang sagot, making me smile bitterly.
Paano, ilang araw na kaya siyang hindi nag-papakita sa amin! Four days ago nang natulog siya rito tapos nang umaga 'nun, bigla na lang siyang umalis because he have some important business meeting to attend.
Nakakatampo nga eh but I understand naman, it's related to his work anyway.
"Kambal, palagi bang wala si Daddy noong nasa NYC pa kayo nakatira?" tanong ko ulit as Ara glance at me confusedly after hearing that.
"Bakit mo naman natanong?" I shrugged, oo nga, ba't ko nga naman 'yon naitanong?
"Wala, nevermind na lang pala.." I was about to change the topic nang biglang sagutin ni Ara ang tanong ko.
"Actually, after Dad's separation with Mom, he became a workaholic. But not that one na wala na talaga siyang oras para sa amin ni Cae, it's just that aalis siya ng maaga at uuwi ng gabi na. We both don't mind it at all kasi tuwing weekends, bumabawi naman siya, it's like we'll go shopping or tour around an amusement park or something." she explained.
Tila nakahinga naman ako ng maluwag dahil dun. I concluded kasi na baka sobrang workaholic na si Dad at wala na siyang oras para sa mga kapatid ko, but then I was wrong. He does spend quality time with my sisters at kahit wala ako dun, I feel happy for them.
Sa aming tatlo, ako kasi 'yong panganay. To the fact na Ara and I are twins, ako 'yong firstborn and next is Ara. 'Di nga lang halata kasi usually, Ara act more mature than I do.
"Kambal, si Mommy, does she ever had a boyfriend nang naghiwalay sila ni Dad?" diretsyahang tanong ni Ara, my eyes grew wide as I looked at her with disbelief.
"She never had one! I mean suitors, she have a lot but, boyfriend? She didn't kasi she's still committed to Dad thou and I know she still love him kahit hindi halata." mabilis kong sagot, tumango lang si Ara.
"Nice. Si Daddy, he have flings but girlfriend? I doubt that!" she said and we both chuckled. Pano, patay na patay 'yon kay Mommy!
Ara and I continued chatting not until the front door opened, revealing Mommy wearing her annoyed face.
"Pack your things, were going on a vacation." she announced.
Whaaat? Vacation?
