Ariana's P.O.V.

It's Thursday night and I sit home alone, typing up an assignment that's due tomorrow for one of my classes.

Justin is out at practice for his championship game tomorrow night. Lucas is out hanging with a few friends. I don't know where Paige is, nor do I care.

I hear my phone ringing and look down at it to see Lea calling, my best friend from high school. I instantly answer her call.

"Lea! How are you? It's been such a long time since we've last talked"I beam into the phone. "I've been good, how about you?"She asks. "I've been pretty good too"I answer her.

"How is it down there at Stanford?"She asks me. "It's hard but I'm pulling through. How about NYU? How's it going up there in New York?"I ask her. "Its going well"She says.

"Did Lexi ever tell you about the Christmas plans we had made?"I ask her. "Yea, she did. I can't wait to see you both when I go down to Bakersfield"She says. "I can't wait to see you two either. I've really missed having you both by my side everyday"I say.

"I've missed having you by my side too. College isn't the same without you or Lexi"She admits. "I know how you feel. I really wish that we didn't separate after high school"I tell her.

"In three weeks we'll be able to see each other again"She says. "I don't know if I could wait that long"I chuckle.

"Me neither, let's just hope these next few weeks go by quickly"She says.

"I'll be counting down the days"I say and she laughs. "Well, it was nice talking to you. I have to go, I have a huge test to study for. I'll be cramming all night for it"She says. "It was nice talking to you too. Good look on your test"I tell her. We exchange goodbyes before I hang up.

I focus back on my laptop and continue typing up my essay.

Thirty minutes later, I hear the front door open and someone come in.

Paige walks into the living room with tears streaming down her face. I immediately stand up and rush over to her.

"Paige, what's wrong?"I ask her, panicked. "N-N-Noah broke up w-with me"She stutters, tears still running  down her tear stained face. The mascara from her eyes is beginning to mess up from all the tears.

I embrace her in a hug and hold onto her tightly. I know me and her aren't in the best of terms, but I still care for her.

"Why did Noah break up with you?"I ask her. "He left me for some other girl"She says. I knew he wasn't truly devoted to her.

"Don't cry, that idiot is not worth your tears"I tell her and pull her head onto my shoulder. She cries on me while I stroke her hair. "It's gonna be okay"I tell her.

We stay like that for at least ten minutes before she backs away.

"Do you want me to get you something to eat or get you a drink?"I ask her.

"A tube of ice cream would be nice"She says and I nod. She pulls off her jacket and sits on the couch while I head to the kitchen. I grab her a small tube of cookie dough ice cream from the freezer and a spoon.

I walk back into the living room and sit down on the couch with her. I hand her the ice cream and she thanks me.

"I'm sorry about what Noah did"I tell her. "Don't be, you were right about him taking advantage of me. I thought he loved me but I guess I was wrong"She says.

"He's stupid for leaving you"I say. "Yea but I'm stupid too. I shouldn't have fallen for him. Deep down I knew he would play me yet I didn't listen"She says.
