Growling loudly, Arabella tried to buck the King off her figure as she tried to escape the King. His tongue lapped along the soft fur of her body, moistening it and scenting her. His wolf voiced his annoyance at her when his frequent soft growls could be heard as she struggled.

The weight of his wolf pressed against her in an act of dominance, angered at her audacity to injure him purposely and not show remorse. The King was even more annoyed when she pushed him off her and ran off, he was about to follow her when one of his guards in human form came out from the bushes with clothes in his hands.

"You have been requested at the castle My Lord." The guard's head was bowed as he spoke.

The King shifted and took the clothes from the guards hurriedly putting them on and quickly thanking the guard.

The King was worried about Arabella, he had not been sleeping well since he met her. His wolf yearned to be close to her and all he did was worry about her well being.

Arriving at the palace, he was greeted by his mother as she embraced him in a hug.

"Xavier, we must discuss the preparations for the banquet and the security protocol to be instated." His mother said as she released him from the hug.

"It's been twelve years since your father is gone and it feels like he was here yesterday. I know you do not want to do anything special because he was taken away from us so close to your birthday but I think we should commemorate his passing this year." His mother said sadly.

"Mother, do what you must to celebrate the life of father." He said with much sorrow.

It was around this time he was mostly in anguish from the reminder that his father passed three days after his birthday. With the addition of his mate not wanting him, it replenished his chain of feelings.

"Xavier, who did you allow to attack you at the hunt without correction? Are you okay?" His mother asked worriedly after being informed of the incident between Xavier and Arabella by one of the guards.

"Yes I'm fine Mother. Do you remember Arabella Gardenia? The supposed successor of the Gardenia Pack whom I prohibited from being the Alpha?" He said passively.

"Yes I do remember. She seemed to have great potential when Vladimir had told me about her. I heard she was joining the pack soon when the initiation for all new pack members are held at the end of the month. But Xavier, just because she is looking for revenge and you feel guilty for your choice does not mean you should have let her injure you. You are King, you should know better." She said scolding him.

"I have not had a chance to tell you this but Arabella Gardenia is my mate." He told her truthfully.

His mother's eyebrows furrowed, unknown how to react to the given circumstance, there was a pause of analysis.

"I'm chuffed that you have found your mate but why did she attack you?" His mother said thoughtfully.

"Mother, sit with me." He said to her as he motioned her to his office so they could have this conversation in private.

Sitting in his office now, the guards outside, he sighed loudly.
"She is still vengeful of my decision and she is refusing to accept me." He said sorrowfully as he carefully maneuvered from saying the word reject.

"She has a duty to fulfill as Queen, she does not have a choice in this." His mother said sternly.

"It is her right to choose if she wants me as a mate. She has made her decision." The King voiced his dilemma in utter sadness.
