A Year Later.
~~~~Birayn's P.O.V.~~~~
"Get it out!" I scream, my nails digging into Kazi's hand.
"Almost there Birayn!" Nala shouts. "Push!"
"What the he*l do you think I'm doing!?" I scream at her. "I am pushing!" Kazi tries to move, but hisses when my nails turn to claws, breaking his skin. "This is your fault! You did this!" I yell at my oh-so-loving husband, then cry in pain while pushing again.
"I clearly remember you having a big part in it." He states.
"Do you really think now is a good time to defend what your downstairs buddy did to my body?!" My hand grips his collar and pull his face down to mine. "Us women are the only ones that..." I pause to scream, "that go through the pain of baring your kinds offspring!" I shout the last word and he surprises me by kissing me.
"I love you." He whispers.
I almost reply when white hot pain sears through me. "Mother of G-D!" I grit my teeth. Suddenly the pain dies a little and I sigh.
"The first one's a boy!"
"First one!?" I shoot up and stare in shock as Nala passes my baby to the nurse.
"I tried to tell you during the sonograms, but you only wanted to know that everything was fine and healthy, not even glancing at the screen. You would stop me everytime I opened my mouth, saying that you wanted it to be a surprise." The pain comes back ten-fold and I squeeze the blood out of Kazi's hand. "Well surprise, Birayn." Nala says and readies for the next one.
An hour later our second son is out and everything's being cleaned while Kazi is playing with the first one. After he's clean, Nala places our second son in my arms. I stare down at the little guy, and instanly my heart is stolen. "So, have y'all picked names yet?" Nala asks. Kazi and I look at each other.
"Garrick for the first-" I start.
"Derek for the second." Kazi finishes with a smile. Those are the two names we couldn't chose between.
"Middle names?"
"No." We both say at the same time. "No middle names." We grin and Kazi lies Garrick in my other arm, then just stares down at us. "How is it possible to feel so much love for such small beings?" He caresses their cheeks.
"It just is." Is all I have to answer with.
"I'm beyond in love with you." Kazi leans in closer, brushing his lips on mine.
"And I you." I close the space.
