As the clocked ticked, the night quickly rolled by. Before anyone knew it, the sun started to come up as it sent its rays through the windows. As the sunlight hit her face, Marisa slowly opened her eyes. Looking around, she realized she wasn’t in the sanitation room.

“What? Where am I?” Just then, she felt something grip her hand. Looking to her side, she was surprised to see it was Thomas. He was sitting in a chair next to her bed fast asleep. She looked down to realize he was holding her hand in his sleep. Slowly she sat up.

“Now I remember. I went to get cleaned up when I suddenly felt really dizzy. I must have fainted or something.” Looking over at Thomas, she couldn’t help smile.

“You must have been exhausted like I was. Yet, you still stayed by my side and watched over me.” Slowly, she pulled her hand away and got out of bed. Carefully, she put a blanket over him.

“I better go check on our new patient to make sure he’s still stable. Sleep well Thomas and thank you.” With that, she tiptoed out of the room. When she walked into the operating room, she was surprised to find it empty. Afraid something happened, she rushed to the doctor’s resting room. When she got there, Dr. John was gulping down a big cup of coffee.

“What happened to the man from the accident?!” Dr. John looked up.

“Ah, awake already are we? Don’t worry. We just sent him to a specialist who said he would do some work at reconstructing his bones. A helicopter came and picked him up about an hour ago.” Marisa let out a sigh of relief.

“I see. Scared me there for a minute.” Dr. John chuckled.

“You’re the one who gave your friends a bit of a scare last night when they found you passed out in the sanitation room.” Marisa formed a surprised look on her face.

“I did?”

“Sure did. They were so worried they all decided to spend the night here.”

“What? They’re all still here? I thought only Thomas was here cause he was by my side when I woke up.”

“Nope, they’re all still sleeping in the other vacant room.” Marisa just stood there for a minute.

“Gosh, I didn’t mean to worry them like that. I wasn’t really thinking was I?”

“Not your fault. Yesterday was a big day for everyone. Would have made anybody crash.” Just then, Marisa turned around and headed back out the door.

“I’m going to go check on them.” With that, she rushed out leaving Dr. John sipping his coffee with a big smile on his face. As soon as Marisa came to the door of the room where the others were suppose to be sleeping, she stopped for a minute to catch her breath. Then, she quietly opened the door and pocked her head in. It was just as Dr. John had said. They were all sound asleep. The only noise that could be heard was coming from Marcus snoring as he rolled over away from the sunlight. Marisa couldn’t help but smile as she stepped back outside and closed the door. Now that she knew the man from the accident was being taken care of and her friends were still asleep, she decided to head back and check on Thomas. When she got there, he was still fast asleep. Marisa smiled as she sat down on the bed next to him.

“This is the first time I’ve seen Thomas sleeping. He looks so peaceful as if everything that happened was nothing more than a bad dream.” She thought to herself as she looked at his face. As though she was caught in his gaze, she couldn’t help but feel as though she was being drawn towards him. Before she realized what was happening, she found herself right up in his face. With her face now bright red, she jumped back and slapped her hands over her head.
