Your POV;
You woke up to the sun peeking through the curtains. You brushed your hair out of your face and looked over to your left. Today was your day, your birthday.

Alissa was sleeping there silently. She looked so beautiful and peaceful. You were kind of disappointed that she wasn't already awake to surprise you or anything, but maybe she had something planned for later.

You jumped out of bed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. You quietly walked down the stairs to not wake up Alissa.

You walked towards the kitchen and grabbed eggs from the fridge. You turned on the stove and grabbed a pan. You cracked the eggs into the pan and made your breakfast. You grabbed two pieces of toast and put them in the toaster.

You waited for your bread to toast as you put your eggs onto a plate. A few seconds later the toast popped out of the toaster. You put them on your plate, poured yourself a glass of juice and made your way to the kitchen table.

About an hour later you were watching TV in the living room bored as ever. You really wanted to do something today, but you guess not.

Your thoughts were interrupted by light footsteps coming down the stairs. Alissa was already changed and ready for the day.

"Hey babe," she said passing by you going straight to the kitchen.

She came out of the kitchen with a granola bar and water.

"I'm about to head out, see you later," she said kissing your forehead then running out of the apartment.

What the hell just happened? Did she totally forget about your birthday? You're not the type of person to be selfish and not care about yourself, but today's your day.

Tears slowly began to fall from your eyes as you plopped onto the couch. You still couldn't believe it. She didn't even tell you where she was going.

You decided to go back upstairs and just lay down. You stared at the ceiling and breathed slowly. You stayed like this for another ten minutes before getting up.

"You know what? I'm going to be productive today" you said to yourself.

You got up and made your bed. You grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom to take a shower. You showered and shaved. Then you dried your hair. You did your makeup and got changed. You were going out later tonight by yourself. If Alissa didn't remember that doesn't matter, you'll go out alone.

After walking out of the bathroom you heard keys jingling downstairs. You walked downstairs and watched as Alissa took off her jacket and hung it on the hook.

She looked up and smiled at you.

"Hey, babe," she said.

You just nodded.

"How was your day?" she asked.

You didn't answer

"Is something wrong?" she asked.

"Of course something is wrong. Today's my birthday and you totally forgot. I don't want to be selfish or anything, but you just left me here alone and bored!" you said.

"Well okay then," Alissa said.

She opened the front door and walked out. You were shocked. Where was the hell she going now?

Your thoughts were interrupted by the front door opening again. In walked Alissa with a small golden retriever puppy.

"NO FUCKING WAY" you yelled running up to the two.

"You really think I forgot?" she asked.

"Well kind of," you said.

"Here take him," she said smiling.

You grabbed the puppy from her arms and hugged him.

After hugging him for a good two minutes you put him down so he could play.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," you said while hugging Alissa.

"No problem babe," she said giggling.

You ran to the couch, Alissa following you while the puppy jumped into your lap.

"What should we name him?" Alissa asked sitting beside you.

"Umm I don't know," you said.

"I've always wanted to name a pet Honey," she said.

"OOOH, that's so cute, I like it," you said.
"Honey, come here baby," you said to the dog.

Alissa laughed as you both spent the night playing with your new best friend.
