Tessa Brooks; One Year Later

Your POV;
You woke up very tired and drowsy. You really needed some coffee, but ran out a few days ago. You decided to go to your favorite coffee shop which was down the street from your condo. They had the best-tasting coffee and best-tasting breakfast.

You got out of bed and changed into some decent looking clothes. You unplugged your phone from the charger then brushed your teeth. You grabbed the keys to your condo, locked the door and walked down the hall. You went down the elevator and made your way to the front entrance. You walked out of your building and began walking to the café.

Your POV;
As soon as you got there you took a seat and scrolled through your phone. You took some time to inhale the smell of fresh coffee and baked goods. After a good ten minutes, you decided to get up and order. You ordered your regular along with a cheese croissant. You waited for your order and when you order was done, you grabbed it and sat down on one of the chairs near a table. You placed your food on the table and pulled out your phone again. You took a sip of your coffee and then a bite of your croissant. You peacefully ate your food as you watched more people walk into the store.

While you were taking a sip of your coffee the bells of the café wrong loudly, signaling somebody had just entered. You turn towards the door and were surprised with who came into view.

Tessa

You haven't seen her in forever. Not since the breakup.

FLASHBACK

"I think we need to see other people," she said.

"What do you mean? Our relationship is going great" you said.

"Maybe for you, but not for me. See my career has sky rocketed and I plan to move to LA to pursue my dreams. I was invited to join a group of people like me" she continued.

You got up and gave her a hug. This was going to be hard for you, but you wanted Tessa to live out her dream.

"Have fun out there?" you said pulling away from the hug and smiling.

She smiled and nodded at you before getting up and walking out of the apartment leaving you there upset, but also proud.

END OF FLASHBACK

That was the last you saw of Tessa. It's been a year since you've seen her. You really missed her. What was she even doing here? She's supposed to be in LA.

It seemed like you were staring at her for forever because she noticed you. As soon as you made eye contact you quickly looked down at your phone and pretended you were texting someone. It was too late she had already seen you. You heard the chair of your table slowly back out as somebody sat down. You looked up and no surprise, it was Tessa.

"Hey, how have you been?" she said.

You looked up.

"Oh hi. I've been okay, how about you?" you asked.

She sighed.

"LA has been very good to me. I'm really happy" she paused and looked down.
"but to be totally honest, it sucks really bad. I really miss you y/n. I was so stupid to think that I didn't need you" she said sadly.

"It's okay don't worry about it, I'm proud you're living your dream. I'm honestly not angry" you said.

"How about we do some catching up after I order?" she asked you.

"I would love that," you said smiling.

Third Person's POV;
Tessa and y/n went for a long walk around town catching up with each other. They really never understood why they did call it quits. They needed each other.

At the end of the day, nothing was able to break up the love they shared for each other and eventually they were a couple again. Time apart and arguments could never interfere with what these two shared, which was something very special.
