Chapter 19

The thought of the morning after partying like wild animals and drinking alcohol like it was water is something that makes you think twice before you do what you are about to do. Though, that never really stopped most people - it certainly didn't stop me last night. I wasn't usually a part of these gatherings, I only got tricked into joining by no other than Penelope Walton.

Before Charlie even had a chance to answer my question, some people crashed the party downstairs. I'm guessing it was yesterday's losing baseball team, but I really didn't have a clue. Of course, they trashed the place and, naturally, there came a fight. Well, it was probably just hokey pokey and wobbling with their fists hanging in front of them. I suspect the opposition team wasn't as sharp as they normally would, either. We heard people screaming and running and freaking out. Thankfully, we were safely tucked in some stranger's bedroom. The eight of us ended up falling asleep scattered at radom. I even managed to send my mother a text, saying that me and Pen are sleeping over at cheerbot's house. I didn't exactly say cheerbot, I just lied and wrote that her name was Sunshine - yeah, I thought it was ironic too. Obviously, I wasn't thinking straight.

But, what I find most disappointing about this whole situation still remains the same. No, it wasn't because I got drunk and will probably have a massive hangover. Nor was it the fact that I humiliated myself while I was drunk. In actual fact, it was because this guy I know never got to do his dare.

Charlie Fellows rarely chose truth and I never really get the chance to decide what he'll do for his dare. For short, I lost any chances I had to embarass him last night.

At the moment, I'm being half crushed to death by someone on the uncomfortably cramped queen sized bed. I don't even know what time it is, I just know I'm hungry and hungover. I try to wiggle around some and the body above mine stirs. I do it again and add a good elbow jab. I hear a satisfying groan and I do a little push up to get some air in my lungs. I mean, I only ended up getting my face two inches away from the mattress for about three seconds, but it was worth it. Oxygen for my burning lungs was worth it.

"What are you doing?" grumbled a hoarse, possibly annoyed, voice.

I roll around in order to see who it is. It's just Zeke Vanderwall. "Wait...Zeke?" I cracked my eyes open, momentarily blinding myself and realizing I was right. I expected it to be Cindy or Charlie, even the twins. Cheerbot could've been it, but not Zeke. I thought he was too macho for the bed.

"Don't answer my question with a question," he chides with a smirk, but I could tell he was fighting off his heavy-looking eyelids.

"Don't lie on top of me," I retort, looking him straight in the eye. God, his eyes are too amazing!

"You know you like it."

"Can't you-" I began, but was cut off.

Cindy threw a pillow at our heads. I'm guessing she's at her cranky phase. "Just shut up, you two. I don't want to witness or even hear your sexual tension!"

Zeke stands up and drags his feet to the couch where Cindy was slumped on and hit her with his pillow. Like a legit pillow fight hit. "You can't tell me what to do."

"No kidding," I remarked, grinning to myself like a proper idiot. I've never hung out with Zeke before, so I have no clue what to expect.

"Guys, let's go eat at the diner first!" Hector suddenly yelled with wide eyes. He looked like he didn't lose a wink of sleep.

"It's Pancake Saturday, three for one! Let's get going," added Henry, looking the same - alive and wide awake.

We split up, trying to make ourselves look as presentable as possible. Both Cindy and I had a massive tug of war with the hairbrush in the bathroom. I don't really know where Penny and cheerbot went. Charlie and Zeke disappeared as well. The twins...they didn't really have to do much. They were sober enough to look the way they did this morning.
