"How's Nessie?" Leah said dimly. Rachel said nothing.

"Jake's here with us." Leah said, turning her head over her shoulder to see Jacob and Seth walking nearer towards them. She was sure, Jacob's glum face was visible to Rachel at the distance.

"Thank you, for bringing him back," Rachel said rather sadly. If only she knew how he was found.

"Tell me how's Nessie. Rach," Jacob said, as he arrived. "Tell me, Rachel."

"I can't. Let's get going." She sighed.

"Why? What happened?" He continued, countless of questions were running inside his head.

"Jacob, calm down." Seth said, patting Jacob's shoulder. "Just bring me to her."

The ride was silent, as thick as an ivy wall. Everybody was lost in their own feelings until Jacob started to break it. "Is Nessie okay?"

"Jacob, we're arriving. You'll see her soon enough." Rachel spoke coldly as she concentrated her mind on the road.

"Fuck it, Rachel! Tell me how she is!" Jacob suddenly shouted, extremely frustrated.

"She's not okay! Not at all! Happy? I can't talk about this right now." Rachel was furious, as she drove into the parking lot. "Come on."

"Jacob." Carlisle greeted him at the door. "Esme is inside. Come in." He continued calmly. His calmness almost made Jacob blew up. "Where's my wife?"

"You know where she is. Go."

Without any second wasted, he ran towards the room her wife was placed and opened the door with trembling hands. He knew he wasn't ready, he knew he couldn't see his wife in that situation. Images of Bella during her pregnancy bombarded his mind, her health, her body, and how she was tortured inside. He couldn't let Renesmee go through the same thing.

Slowly, he came into the room and lifted up his head. And that when all came back to him. He shouldn't leave her at the first place. He walked slowly and weakly towards her bed, his shaking hand lifted up, touching the wires that had been connected into his wife's small body.

Gently, he let go of the wires and looked over the monitor screen. He was no doctor, but he knew, his wife was fighting for her life.

"Baby, you look terrible." He whispered sadly as he sat down near to Renesmee's head. She was too skinny, too sick compared to Bella.

"I'm here, baby. Wake up. I'm here," he said lowly, slowly putting her hand in his, scared if he broke it. It was cold and lifeless but he still could feel the spark and the love from the touch.

"I'm sorry for leaving you. I'm so sorry, Ness. Please wake up," he cried, sinking his head besides Nessie's.

"She's a strong woman." He heard Rachel's voice behind him.

"I know. Of course she is," Jacob replied griefly, tugging the corner of his mouth up, couldn't help but to feel proud of his wife.

"Bring her back, Jake." She cried, lowering herself onto a chair next to Jacob.

"How can she be so strong? How can you be so strong, Ness?" Jacob cried harder as he whispered, kissing Renesmee's temple.

"She asked for you every single day, Jake. She took a good care of your child at the same time. She named him Daniel." Rachel spoke, chuckled at how convinced Renesmee was before really knowing the child was a he.

"Where is he?" Jacob said, wiping his tears. Just in time, Esme came into the room, bringing Daniel with her. Jacob stood up and went to his child quickly and opened his arms to receive his child.

It was no doubt that the child was his. He had Jacob written all over him. "Hey, little guy." He whispered, walking around the bed and stopped at the opposite, sitting at the side, near to Renesmee's arm.

"He looked just like you, Jake."

"Yeah." He smiled, wiping his tears once again.

"Esme, I need to talk to my sister, if you don't mind." He said, reluctantly giving Daniel back to his great-grandmother. He watched her closed the door before looking back at Renesmee.

They were silent again by the time they were alone with Renesmee.

"I haven't thanked you yet for taking such a great care of Nessie." He said silently. "Thank you."

"I know you love her, Jake." She replied shortly.

"She's beautiful," Jacob spoke lowly, caressing Renesmee's cold and pale face. "I just want her back. I have so much to tell her, to apologize to her and to thank her for our baby. I haven't got the chance yet." He continued.

"I was just a second late."

"What?"

"I found her on the bed, Jake. She gave birth to Daniel on her own. She lost a lot of blood in the process, and she broke her spine. She even called your name before she passed out. She asked for you, Jake." Rachel cried.

Jacob sank deeper and bent his body forward, kissing Renesmee's forehead and stayed there for a while.

"Jake, Edward and Bella are dead." She said griefly. Jacob was startled by the news and the old emotion came back. The longing. He was hurt, thinking about the past, his mom, his dad. But he was there to see them, he was able to see them for the last time. What about Renesmee?

"What happened?" He asked, couldn't help but to stare at Renesmee's face as a tear escaped. His bestfriend was dead. Everyone he loved was dead, and now his wife was dying. No, he wouldn't let her go.

He was struck by a huge realization and bent his body towards Renesmee. "Baby, you can't leave me. Please, please, pplease Wake up. Have you seen Daniel? Wake up please." He pleaded, his forehead was flush against Renesmee's.

"They were attacked. The packs are joining the Cullens to track down their body. Renesmee will be needing you once she woke up. I'll leave you two." Rachel spoke, heading towards the door.

"Come on, please. Come back, baby. Come back."

"... I'm sorry I let you down. Ed, I'm sorry. Bella, I'm so sorry. Baby, wake up love. I'm sorry you have to go through all this, but you're not alone. I'm here now."

"... Don't leave me. Don't leave us. Please. Don't go."

And something happened. The monitor, it was showing unstable pulse of Renesmee.

"Carlisle! Help us!" He cried and shouted, placing both of his hands onto both sides of Renesmee's cheeks, his tears were coming down to the tips of his nose, dripping onto Renesmee's face.

"Baby, wake up, please. Don't leave me." He said loudly, trembling from his fear.

"Nessie Black, come on now. Fight, please," He growled, sadness and angry were mixing inside him, but tears were still there.

"Jacob! What are you doing? God, Carlisle! Save her!" He heard Leah screamed. Jacob let out a loud cry and sank his head into the crook of Renesmee's neck, kissing the skin there.

"Come on, baby. Come on," he whispered, broken.
