I had to endure four lessons before lunch and I wasn't happy about it. Luckily, Luke had different lessons to me and was only in my English class. I don't think I could've taken four lessons with the constant moans from the girls every time he moved. I knew, that after a week or so he wouldn't be the centre of attention anymore, he was just fresh meat, everyone wanted a taste and when they had some they'd leave him alone and him and his Aussie mates could fade into the darkness.
I didn't see why everyone was making a massive thing over them, they were just people. Annoying, arrogant and stupid, they all were.
"Will you please cheer up?!" Kaela said, hitting me from the opposite side of the table.
"Why it's a Monday! There's nothing to be happy about!" I groaned, throwing my head back and shutting my eyes for a moment before lifting my head and focusing on Kaela's unamused face.
"Be happy about seeing me again," she chirped. I rolled my eyes.
"Kaela I see you everyday anyway, you practically live in my house..." I reminded her. She smirked but shook her head.
"That's not the point," she continued.
"Well what is the point then? You know that I'm not going to be happy on a Monday, especially when there's a bunch of new pricks when I don't even like the ones here at the moment," I explained.
"You've only seen one of them! Come on you can't hate every living thing..." She trailed off and I could tell she was trying to think of something or someone I didn't hate.
"I don't hate penguins.. Or dogs... Or other animals..." I said grinning.
"You and I both know that was not what I meant!" she whined, she knew she wasn't going to win but she wasn't going to give in that easily. "ME!" she shouted after a moment of satisfied silence.
"What?" I said almost smiling at her sudden stupid outburst.
"Me! You don't hate me! We've been friends for almost 8 years now, and, as far as I'm aware, I'm a living human being," she chirped, pleased that she'd actually found someone I liked.
"I wouldn't be so sure. You irritate me a lot," I said raising my finger to my chin pretending to think.
"Don't start this! You and I both know that we've been friends for too long for you to say that I don't mean anything to you," she said, I could almost hear the nervousness in her voice and I gave in; I couldn't be mean to her.
"Okay fine I like you but you don't count. You're my best friend, I've liked you since I was like 9 and I didn't have a massive problem with people." She looked at me still happy with whatever victory she had won in her head and I chuckled at the sight of her.
"Whatever..." she mumbled. Suddenly her distant look became more alert but, I noticed she wasn't looking at me but behind me, along with a load of other girls on other tables. I rolled my eyes yet again knowing what was awaiting me.
I swung my legs around and lazily looked up at the boy in front of me. I had to look a lot higher than I expected and I genuinely thought my neck was going to click. I didn't remember him being this tall.
"What?" I practically spat. Yet again I felt Kaela's foot on my leg and I flinched.
"Um I was just wondering if I could sit here... All the other tables are taken..." he said looking around quickly. I also looked around and I saw a lot of girls moving up just so he could sit down next to them.
"I dunno I see a lot of spaces," I said smirking.
"Of course you can sit here!" Kaela butted in, I swore at her under my breath knowing only she would hear it.
