Jake's POV
°°°°°°°°°°°°°I left Emma downstairs after telling her I was going to unpack and check on Y/N.
I stopped in front of Y/N's door, hesitant to enter. I knocked, no answer. I knocked the second time, still no answer. I decided to open the door quietly, and immediately the lights catch my attention. It reminded me of her old room—Polaroid pictures on the wall, fairy lights, lanterns, and all her stuffed animals.
She was sprawled across the bed, sound asleep.
I closed the door, not wanting to wake her up and heading downstairs. Passing by Enoch's door, I decided to stop by and say hello.
"What do you want?" I heard him say after I knocked. "It's Jake. Can I come in?"
"Sure, whatever."
I twisted his door knob and pushed the door open to see Enoch on his desk as usual—messing with his dolls.
"You know that there's a new peculiar, right?" I queried.
"The bird told us, but she didn't tell us anything about him." Enoch answers, his eyes fixated on the moving creature.
"Her. She's a girl." I corrected, seeing him roll his eyes.
"Him, her—who cares."
"Well, uh. You should meet her soon. But I don't think she's in the mood." I told him and his eyebrow quirked up.
"What do you mean?" Enoch asks sternly, his gaze now meeting mine.
"She's just been through a lot, Enoch. Her parents sent her here after s-she—nevermind." I stuttered after remembering that I shouldn't be telling anyone. Y/N was still sensitive over the fact that she had hurt her mother.
"Tell me." Enoch demanded.
"I can't, and I'm not supposed to." I told him, slowly heading out the door. "I-I've got to go,"

We were sat at the dinner table, patiently waiting for everyone to arrive. Hugh walks in the room, his hat resting on top of his head.
But Y/N wasn't here.
Enoch's POV
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°I sat at the head of the table as I always did. We weren't allowed to eat unless everyone was present, and the new peculiar was missing. I scowled.
"Mr O'Connor," Miss Peregrine catches my attention, "Fetch Y/N for us, will you? And while you're there, introduce yourself."
I groan, but I stood up and made my way upstairs. I'd rather be dead than meet anyone new. I knock on the door beside Emma's, since that was the empty room.
I knock quite loudly—I wanted to get this through as fast as I could. There was a whisper, then a laugh.
"Gruff, who is that?" A female voice queried. She wasn't alone, apparently. "No, you idiot—" She laughed. "You can go through walls, but not objects."
Who the hell was she talking to? Is she mad?
"Um, come in!"
I opened the door to reveal a room, it was once very dull but she changed it. There were lights and lanterns hanging from the corner above her bed, which she was sitting on with a book in her hand.
She swept the hair away from her face and looked at me. She was beautiful, but I wasn't going to swoon over her. I shook my head lightly and put a scowl on my face and stared at her.
"Oh, you must be Enoch. I'm Y/N." She smiled.
"Dead-riser. That's me." I replied sternly. "Miss Peregrine wants you downstairs for dinner."
Hurry up and go downstairs, you fool. I'm sick of this already.
She placed her book down and stood up, heading to the door.
"And were you talking to yourself?"
"No—I wasn't, I was just, nevermind—I can't join you for dinner." Y/N said, her eyes starting to cloud over as she pushed the door slowly.
"And why not?! Suit yourself, if you wanna starve." I rolled my eyes.
Weirdo.
I see tears brim her eyes and I immediately felt guilty, but I didn't show it. It's her fault to being such a whiny baby.
"I—" I started, but she cut me off.
"Go away," Y/N snaps, slamming the door.
Jake's POV
°°°°°°°°°°°°°"Where's Y/N, Enoch?" Fiona questions as I flinched a little. I hope Y/N didn't cry.
"She'd rather starve herself, apparently." Enoch scowls, taking a seat.
"Enoch." Miss P scolds him. "I told you, she doesn't want to eat. She was crying. Weirdo."
I stood up, slightly panicked as I decided to go and comfort her but Miss Peregrine stops me.
"You can all start eating. Y/N will not be joining us for personal reasons." She announces as she took a seat and everyone started eating. I saw Enoch eye the empty seat beside his, where Y/N was supposed to sit.
After dinner and watching Horace's dream, I rushed upstairs to get Y/N for the rewind.
"Y/N, are you okay?"
She recognized my voice, immediately answering.
"I-I'm fine, Jake." She sniffles.
"Okay, can we talk?"
"I don't want to. I'd r-rather be alone right now."
"Well, we need to have the rewind soon. You need to go downstairs." I told her, hoping she would agree.
"I—The what now?"
"Just come out," I laughed and I see the door open after a few moments. Y/N stood there, her eyes bloodshot.
"Holy shit, are you sure you're okay?"
"I am, I am. Let's just go." She said, closing her door as she trudged downstairs.
"Y/N!" Claire beams, hugging Y/N as we arrived outside.
"Y/N, darling," Miss Peregrine calls, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I am. What are you all doing out here?"
"Well, we're going to reset the day. It's a time loop." Miss P smiles as she handed Y/N a mask.
She played the disk and nodded for everyone to place their masks on. I stood between Y/N and Emma. Y/N was hesitant and confused at first, but she followed everyone else.
Miss Peregrine holds the pocket watch in her hand and as soon as the bomb is inches away from the house's roof, she rewinds the clock. I couldn't see Y/N's face, but I was so sure she had a dumbfounded look on it.
After the rewind, I saw Y/N run upstairs, back to her bedroom.
