Your POV

°°°°°°°°°°°°

When I woke up, Enoch wasn't there beside me anymore.

I groaned as I shifted my body to my bedside table and checked the time. I had missed lunch again, but I didn't mind. Honestly, at this point, I didn't have the will to eat anything. I knew it was unhealthy but part of being me was that I could go for hours without food. Days even. It was one of the 'perks' of having a demon living inside of you.

"Hey, Y/N." Jake enters the room with a concerned look on his face. "You've missed three meals already. You sure you aren't hungry?"

I contemplated for a while before answering his question. I was torn between two choices; telling him that I killed people, or not. Jake was like a brother to me and I told him almost everything, but a part of me thinks that he'd run away. If I was him, I'd honestly be pretty terrified.

"I'm not. My fear chased the hunger away." I stared at him as he laughed, deciding to not bring up the topic of what happened at the pub.

"Cheesy." Jake comments, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

"Shut uuuuuup." I chuckled, hitting him with a pillow. He let's out a yelp. "But for real, I'm immune to hunger now. I'm becoming a demon slowly." I told him and his eyes widen.

"I'm kidding, oh my god." I rolled my eyes. "Have you seen Enoch?"

His baby blues look at me in confusion.

"Why're you looking for him?"

"I-I just wanted to know his peculiarity, that's all." I told Jake, enough seriousness to actually convince him.

"Dolls." He replied.

"Like Barbie dolls?" I laughed and he rolls his eyes.

"He'll explain for you. He's in his room as always."

"Okay, thanks." I smiled as I stood up to fix my hair in the vanity mirror.

"I was gonna go for a walk along the beach. You wanna come?"

"I've had enough of the outside world. I'll pass. Thanks again."

"Alright, then. See ya."

I exit my bedroom moments later, only to be greeted by Olive. She had a genuine smile plastered across her face.

"Hi, Y/N." She greets shyly.

"Olive! Sup?" I ask her casually, then I quickly remember that she couldn't understand modern slang. I mentally facepalmed at myself before waiting for a reply.

"Uh, I don't know what you mean, but Miss Peregrine wanted to ask you something. She's downstairs in the living room." Olive smiles as she waited for me.

"Oh," I finally realize and I followed her downstairs.

"Y/N darling!" The headmistress greets. "Take a seat," I do so on the sofa next to her, still confused as to why I had been called.
