We started running towards where we parked our cars, I followed behind them trying to keep up but people kept getting in the way so I had to pause every few seconds as someone sped in front of me. The louder the sirens got the more urgent the crowd got to get out of here, I was pretty behind already but I could still somewhat see Noah's mop of brown hair in the distance and I followed them. All hope of reaching them vanished as someone shoved me, desperately trying to get out of there.
I stumbled a few times and bumped into more people until I regained my balance, I tried to crane my neck around searching for someone, anyone familiar but alas my height of 5'2 proved to be a disadvantage once again.
People were pushing me further away from the crowd and more onto the outskirts until I reached a clearing. I scanned the area once more trying to find someone I knew but again came back empty handed.
Suddenly as car skidded by next to me, if I had been only a few inches to the left they would've hit me directly,
"Get in!" Logan called from the driver's seat and instantly relief flooded through me at the sight of seeing a familiar face.
Before I could think the flashes of red and blue signalled nearby and I knew there was no time for thinking, hopping into Logan's car and fastening my seatbelt he sped off before I could close the car door.
When I managed to close the door fully he increased speed as a police car appeared behind us, we were one of the last cars to leave making us an easy target to get caught.
We didn't speak as Logan sped into local roads, the siren on the police car currently chasing us drowned out the honks of passing cars, annoyed at our disturbance in the road.
"Hold on" Logan spoke sternly and I gripped the sides of the car,
Suddenly he skidded left into a small alleyway with a fork in the road. The police were still on our tail as he speeded left and took another right, the alleyway was lined with bricks and lead into different paths. The sirens got slightly softer when we took a large U - turn and passed right by their car and speeding down the path.
"Fuck!" Logan cursed as we opened onto an open road and there were cars lined up in front and behind one another, he hit the steering wheel with force, making me flinch. He looked at me from the corner of his eye before focusing on the road again.
My heart pounded louder as their sirens grew louder by the second, ten or more cars behind us were police officers getting out of their vehicle and stalking towards us. We couldn't pass the cars since they blocked all the exits.
"Come on come one come on" Logan repeatedly mumbled under his breath waiting for the traffic light at the cross road in front of us to turn green. Just as the officers were a few cars behind us they pulled out guns and aimed them at our tyres,
The lights flashed yellow, signalling for the cars on the opposite of the crossroads to slow down until it turned green.
Logan sped off as one by one the cars drove through the cross roads, I turned behind to see the police officers retreating back to their car as we continued to drive off.
Logan kept driving at the same speed swiftly bypassing other cars on the road.
The sirens had just about died down now, making me believe that we had lost them.
Logan turned around for a moment to see if they were still chasing us, but in that moment the car swerved right onto the opposite side of the road. A large truck in front of us beeped loudly his headlights flashing into our eyes,
