Chapter Sixteen

-one week after Chanyeol called his engagement with Kyungsoo off-

It has been the talk of the town when the news about the broken engagement of the president and his fiancé broke inside the whole Development Academy of Korea. Many has felt sad upon hearing the news. They knew it's not allowed to be engaged (romantically) with someone inside the company but they still found the president and his fiancé's relationship so worth having for. It was still a mystery to everyone why did the president called it a quits but there are few people inside the company who knows the reason whyㅡand they are Sehun and Kai. It surprises the two younger persons why was Kyungsoo's not yet resigning for his position. They expected that their supervisor will be quitting his job just to get rid of his ex-fiancé (just like what others will do if they're on the same shoes with him) but no. He stayed despite all the rumors he's been hearing since the day their broken engagement resurfaced around the whole company.

It was one day when Kai was about to knock on Kyungsoo's door just to hear him out or just let Kyungsoo vent out on him when he heard some noises coming inside. It wasn't clear but he was wondering if he's hearing Baekhyun's name being mentioned plenty of times by Kyungsoo and the other person he must be talking with. Some employees already saw him eavesdropping but he never cared. He has this gut feeling that he can get something from it. He has this eery feeling that it will solve their problems.

"What are you doing there?" Kai jumped in surprise when Sehun suddenly spoke near his ears. "Were you eavesdropping?"

Kai, still holding onto his chest, remained attentive with his ears while he was glaring at Sehun. "You almost gave me heart attack!"

Sehun just rolled his eyes into his companion and did the same thing Kai was doing. He neared his ears onto the door and just like with Kai, he was left with his mouth gaped open when he heard Baekhyun's name. "Are they talking about Baekhyun hyung?"

Kai shrugged. "I don't know Sehun. I don't want to jump into conclusions but I've been hearing hyung's name ever since I've got here. I don't like this feeling I have with me."

Sehun and Kai just stared with each others but not long ago, they heard footsteps nearing into the door so they quickly went somewhere far from the office just not to be caught because of eavesdropping into someone's business. The office door's room opened and it revealed a blonde tall guy with piercings on both of his ears with a file case on his hand and with Kyungsoo walking by his side. They shook hands with each others and stayed in silence for a while.

"The job will be done accordingly as what you've instructed Mr. Do," the guy in blonde hair assured, it's like he felt that someone's looking at him so he turned his gaze around and saw Sehun and Kai looking at him like he was their prey. "I better be going."

Kyungsoo nodded with his lips pressed into a thin line. "I'll be expecting a quick yet accurate news in a few days Mr. Huang," he sent off his visitor with just his glance. When Mr. Huang's retreating back was nowhere in sight, Kyungsoo walked his way to the two younger ones' direction. "What are you two doing there? It's office hours. Stop lurking around."

The thing that changed after the president broke his engagement with Kyungsoo? He became a newer version of himself. Gone was the friendly and approachable Kyungsoo and he transformed into someone as cold as ice. No emotions can be seen into his eyes unlike before that he was easily readable with his eyes. He was a newer, stronger, fiercer, and unapproachable version of himself.
