With an uproar of laughter, conversations overlapping each other, and a dysfunctional amount of horsing around, the visiting campers of Greek decent flood into the game grounds. As we line up in our rows I see that most Romans are really serious when it comes to these games. Unlike at Camp Half Blood, they stand in rows, they don't joke before battle, they do things for honor and with seriousness--even when it is not needed. It's a bit intimidating. After gaining strange looks from the legionaries, we settle down and collectively begin readying our teams.

I glance around and look at Miranda to my left. She meets my eyes and we share a confused and shy look. "Are you guys always this tense before games?"

"These games to you guys are important to us. Honor to our cohorts if we win," Alex stands with his armor already on. He holds a bow and a quiver of arrows on his back, and a sword in his hand.

"We aren't even divided by cohorts, this is Camp Half Blood style. By parentage." Miranda shrugs on her own armor.

"Red team is typically the goddesses. Demeter, Athena, Aphrodite, Nike, Tyche, and Hebe, and of course their Roman counterparts will be on our team. . .but that would leave too many gods on one side so we have Apollo and Dionysus with us too." I nudge and elbow into his shoulder. "Luck you, you'll be on the winners team."

"That means Railyn and Annabeth from Athena, Piper and Lacey from Aphrodite, and, Airika and Ariana from Nike will be on our team too." Miranda adds, finally suited up.

"But doesn't that mean Percy from Poseidon, Clairese from Ares, Reyes and Will from Apollo, Leo and Jake from Hephaestus, Travis and Connor from Hermes, and Nico and Hazel from Hades and Pluto, are on the opposite team?" Alex questions. "They're going to be difficult competition."

I make a face. Admittedly, a little bit more than half the time the Blue team wins, but with Romans on out team, counting Alex here...I believe we have a better chance.

The count down begins and the air between the two teams shifts. There's a moment where panic flashes in Alex's eyes as he meets my gaze, but I smile reassuringly at him. Its just capture the flag.

"Breathe guys." I hear Railynn say. "As long as you remember the plan, we will be alright. You guys will do great."

"Demigods!" Chiron says as he stands next to Reyna. He gains everyone's attention. "On behalf of my camp, I would like to thank the Romans for making my campers at home writhing your own. May these games bring the rivalry between us come to an alliance. Without further ado. May I wish the best of luck to both teams, and at the sound of the horn the games will begin."

Chiron stops talking and we all are left in silence waiting to hear the sound of the horn that will allow us all to make our first move.

We wait. No one daring to make a noise and everyone standing at attention. Ready.

We wait. And then--

The horn goes off. Everyone begins running. The games have begun.
