"Okay but, don't you think the new student is weird?" Michael asked, his seventh grade funk stinking up the class room.

"Not as weird as you Michael, and for Pete's sake! Wear deodorant!" Jeremy gagged, fanning his hand around.

"Yeah but look at them! What the heck even is "Dear Evan Hansen?" He said, point at Y/N.

"I think it's like a musical, you know like "Hamilton." Michael nodded his head, looking back down at his DS.

"Aw crap! I didn't pause it!" He said, looking irritated.

"I think I'm going to go talk...just not right now." Jeremy said, his palms turning sweaty from just the thought of talking to someone besides Michael.

"What? You wanna ask them out? You think they might be your soulmate!"

"Maybe! Then maybe I'll get to see colors like my dad did before he married my mom and had me."

"Yeah, but I'm glad they had you! You're like the best most deserving person ever!"

"But my dad had the colors, and he gave it all up because of me, I'm a mistake Michael.."

"Don't ever say that about yourself, you're here for a purpose Jeremy." Michael said, looking at him.

"Thanks Michael.." They hugged. Rich rolled his eyes, calling the, gay as he walked down the hallway. Jake fist-bumped him and snickered.

"So when do you think you're going to talk to them?" Michael asked, trying to change the subject.

"Maybe at lunch.." Soon the bell rang, and they were all in class. They learned about soulmates, and how they worked. Some people didn't have any, and some had more than one. They weren't always paired with the opposite sex, and how to deal with it if yours died.

Their teacher Mr.Price, had his soulmate that he meant on vacation to Orlando.

"Okay class! Today we'll be testing to see if any of you in here have soulmates!" He said, clapping his hands together.

"All we have to do is rub this oil on your finger tips, and if it burns, you have a soulmate. Now do you all have your permission slips?" The entire class passed up a permission slip, even the new kid.

"So who wants to go first?" The class went silent. Everybody was nervous. I mean who wouldn't be if you were about to find out if you had a soulmate or not?

A timid hand went up in the air, belonging to Christine.

"Come on up!" He held the bottle, unscrewing the lid to reveal a perfume spritzer (is that what it's called?)

She walked up, showing him her hand and shutting her eyes. He sprayed. Christine didn't flinch, nor showed any signs of discomfort.

Mr.Price stood awkwardly, realizing the the young girl didn't have a soulmate.

"I don't have one, do I?" She said, oddly smiling.

"I don't think so sweetie.." Christine smiled.

"Whew! I'm not even interested anyways!" She said

Mr.Price let her go back to her spot, looking around the room for any other volunteers.

"Ahh I see the new student wants to know.." He said, looking at Y/N's raised hand. They nervously walked to the front, holding out their hand. Mr.Price sprayed it, and immediately Y/N fell to the ground in pain.

"Oh God! It hurts-" Jeremy and Michael glanced at each other.

"Do you need help getting up! Usually it burns, but not to this point! Jeremy- go take Y/N to the nurse!"

"Um yes sir-"Jeremy got up out of his chair, looking at Y/N's sizzling fingers. He touched her hand.

They both looked at each other, and the first thing Y/N said was-

"There's something wrong with your face!" they said, looking at his face.

"W-what! What is this! Is this..colors?" Michael gasped, and Mr.Price grinned.

"Well..I guess you're stuck with me" They said, smiling.

"I guess I am.." Jeremy said back, hugging Y/N.
