The morning after to my surprise I had slept but woke up without Ezra by my side. Was it all a dream? I questioned in the silence of my bedroom. And like all other normal mornings I slipped out of bed still half asleep caught in a surprise of reality. Ezra's shining morning smile by the kitchen counter drinking coffee.

"Morning," I said grabbing Ezra's cup of coffee.

"There's more coffee there," he chuckled at my behavior and when the coffee hit my mouth I almost spit it back out since it was the one the scientist had gifted me. "Too hot?"

"Yeah."

Stephen had followed everything like a well written script to make me the biggest imbecile in his hands. I couldn't forgive myself nor do away with the shame I wasn't anything to him but a means to an end.

"Anyways we should go out for breakfast. All I have is yesterday's food..."

"I already got us something to eat," he told me to look at the table. "I thought maybe the table for a change."

There was sunny side up eggs, toast and marmalade.

"Okay how in the world did you manage this?" I was giddy from all the food on the plate and began to eat immediately.

"I have my tricks and our first breakfast in so long shouldn't be a complete drab."

"Well if it wasn't proven before now I know you know the way my heart." I joked and offered him toast with marmalade.

"Yes but it doesn't mean I agree with it Paddington," he made a face at the bread with marmalade.

"More for me."

"On that note I have something for you."

"What could be better than this?"

"Maybe this could be," he opened his hand and showed me a ring in the palm of it.

"Oh wow," I looked at the delicate gold ring with a peculiar stone in the middle.

"A blue star sapphire I got you on our anniversary."

"Of course, dinner, dancing and all that jazz."

"Yeah. You remember it?"

"It's more like small visions, not so much details, just a quick glance into the moment."

"And do you like it still?"

"I do Ezra," I joked giving him my hand so he could slip the ring on my finger.

"We always do." He kissed the ring but without hesitation when he came up I went ahead and kissed him one more time to see if my memories would get stronger.

"So what happens now? Our honeymoon?"

"Soon but for now we need to get out of here. The more exposed the scientist is to your presence the quicker he remembers..."
